Is there any way to guarantee R3 Sophic Devotion?

Title. I think I’ve unlocked every talent that would improve the base skill of Sophic Devotion and am max Enchanting, but even when both using Elemental Shatter to get the buff and using an Illustrious Insight, it’s not at 100% chance to make a R3.

Right now, without the Elemental Shatter buff (and with Illustrious Insight), I’m at 90% of the R2-R3 bar, and it is significantly more likely to give me a R2 than a R3.

I feel like I’m misunderstanding the system and wasting a bunch of gold popping out a lot of R2’s when I try to make Sophic Devotions. Is there a way that I can guarantee rank 3’s?

Getting guaranteed rank 3s in enchanting is tricky because there’s a lot of skill points hidden in unexpected places. For sophic devotion, assuming you have max enchanting level, rare profession tools, a shattered order buff, and an insight, you need the following spec:

That should put you at 432 skill. You can skimp a bit on enchanting level or a piece of gear, but not the spec.

I can do them in 3 weeks. So the answer is yes. I need to fill out a few points in Insight of the Blue and finish putting points into Primal Extraction.

I will need the shatter buff and an Illustrious Insight for the last 53 skill I need to hit 100% for a rank 3.

For me at least, this seems to not work.

The +skill from tools doesnt seem to count, nor does the shattered buff.
i’m at 407 skill (100+307) with all tools at r5.

Pretty sure this is a bug?

I have the same issue with leather working. Stoncrust are literally 9 points shy of garanteed r3 and fierce armor kits are about 20ish points shy and nothing i can do will increase that outside of i insight which i refuse to use on mats and firecr armor kits are fairly expensive to make with almost 2.5k difference in sell price.

Fierce armor kit 10 earths and 4 stone crust (2 earth, 2 decay, 4 hides) r2 sells for less than 100g r3 sells for 2.5k or more.

I have found some success with just stonecrust though using multicraft set up but i dont think enchanting has anything like this.

I realize you necro’d this thread, but wanted to give you a rundown of all the enchanting skill points you need to guarantee sophic devotion:

 25 shattered buff from elemental shatter: rousing
 30 illustrious insight
 22 rare (blue) enchanting gear
100 enchanting skill
 45  30/30 enchantment
 65  50/50 primal
 15  10/10 sophic
 65  40/40 rods, runes, ruses
 15  15/30 inspired devotion
 15  45/50 insight of the blue
 25  35/40 draconic disenchantment
 10  40/40 primal extraction

I’m definitely getting skill points from both the gear and the shattered buff and given you are at 407, then you are at least getting some of them. Note that rank of the gear doesn’t matter, only that it is the blue gear. rank 1 blue gear gives the full skill amount.

If you are still having trouble hitting 432, it’s probably the crafting gear bug where you have to unequip and reequip to get the skill to count. your shatter buff has to be the right one as well

Given that you are 407, which is 25 points off of the max, I would wager you don’t have the correct shattered buff . they are element specific to the enchantment you are making. Either that or you either don’t have the last point in primal extraction (mandatory) or you missed your points in draconic disenchantment

Not sure what you mean with primal extraction 40/40 mandatory? it’s just inspiration there @ 35/40… or am i misreading it?
i have 30/40 there. But everything else is maxed.

Also, shattered order buff only seems to give stat, but yes, i did have it on anyway.
Am i shattering the wrong thing?

EDIT : ahhh i see last thing in that 40/40 is the buff :smiley: /facepalm
