Is there any point in staying in a losing bg?

Considering you dont get conquest from a loss and honor is completely useless, plus with the lack of worthwhile gear from pvp, why should anyone bother staying in a losing bg and not just either get a 15min deserter buff or afk to let them win?

Like seriously, there’s no incentive for staying, 15 min can be used way better elsewhere in pve and you ll get better rewards anyway.

If the BG will take longer to finish than the deserter buff then /afk.

The current BG PvP reward system is way less rewarding than all forms of PvE. I don’t even run BGs anymore but will need to farm honor at some point for BotE essence upgrades I suppose… but once again its Blizzard forcing me into farming something by way of an aspect of the game I am otherwise uninterested in.

Used to love running BGs but now its just not worth the frustration.

Epic BGs are the worst…only because of Ashran…I insta quit that one everytime I am forced to run BGs as a result of a weekly or whatever.

They should just leave the conquest rewards in place regardless of how many times you run a BG in a day and give a 30 to 50 percent reward for a loss on Conquest.

because it was the BG that YOU cued for and if you leave you are f*cking over another player who has spent time waiting in a Q.
I would personally like to see BG leavers get a day ban

It builds character.

Try yoga or meditation… Your suggestion would definately lead to a drop in BG participation which effects other players considerably more than a few folks dropping out occasionally.

If you leave you are a disappointment to humanity.

If they made the incentive to stay in a losing BG greater than doing 3 daily world quests (relative time expenditure) then I would agree… but that is not the case.

What the…I just don’t…um, well… Did you read this in a self help book or something?

The incentive is that you’re there to PvP. To fight against other people.
If you need incentive to PvP then you’re just a wannabe. Stick to your PvE, chump.

unless you think that MOST players that go into BG’s are quitters then i dont see the validity in it lowering participation. If it does discourage entitled children who think they deserve to be carried to a win each game then all that does is improve the quality of BG’s. I dont see a down side.

In a PvE gear based system where gear acquired mostly through PvE because BGs offer little to no gear rewards the incentive is not to get steamrolled by gear you cannot acquire in a losing BG… You dig?

I would say that a day ban from BGs for quitting a BG would certainly result in a huge impact to BG participation. Many, although not most people would take the day ban over sitting through a loss for an honor pittance.

If you disagree then I say throw in the day ban Im confident it will hurt BGs not help.

I see a couple people trying to sound HC in here but it doesn’t change that BGs really don’t give you a reason to ride it out…

Look at the trends all over… using negative reinforcement to increase popularity or fix problems always backfires…

The incentive is fighting other players, hence Player Versus Player. Ya dig?
Wait, no, I can tell that you don’t dig. You have no competitive spirit whatsoever.

Give them 3 warnings with the deserter buff becoming fifteen minutes longer each time.

After deserting three times within twenty four hours they are contacted by a GM and given a 12-24 hour deserter buff.

Punishment becomes more severe each time a GM has to contact you. The message could be automatic and wouldn’t need an actual person to do this.

:+1:

A bit agressive (we can call it passionate), but I like your opinion on this
