Is there any Demand/Talk of Outlaw being a tank spec?

I may piss some people off, but my gameplay would improve dramatically if I had a tank spec. Assassination and Subtly piss and moan about whether burst or control is justified enough to pick one or the other in pvp given survivability is so low. They hand that survivability to outlaw in pvp, and no one touches it because the spike damage and utility blows. Oh, and the survivability is mediocre.

Outlaws description claims upfront that toe-to-toe-ness is a theme of the spec. it’s loud, proud, and swishy, and yet dodge tanks haven’t been a thing since WotLK, when it was still ‘combat’. It prides itself on being able to kill 5-8 of-level mobs at once… once every 2 minutes.

Save a few rogues that would grumble that they lost the one DPS spec that they could manage due to simplicity, rogues would gain a major stake in the game’s progression, where as currently we beg to keep our legendary 4-second stealth crits and hope shroud of concealment doesn’t get passed to another class.

And yeah, rogue is the melee equivalent of a mage, I suppose. You know, a guaranteed one hot garbo spec for one aspect of the game’s progression. Wouldn’t want to take that away from mages, I guess?

No. Screw that. Outlaw being a tank spec would be the best thing to happen to this class in a long time.

Remember, hunters aren’t mad that survival went melee, they’re mad it sucks.

no

in what fantasy have you ever seen a rogue type character be noble leader of a group? standing up front, ready to take on any threat? naw, rogue are no tanks, hell we vanish at the first sight of trouble.

No. Go away.

Nah. Sub 200 ilvl rogues that don’t play the game not making terrible suggestions is the best thing for the class.

I wish I could downvote this.

Outlaw should be a ranged gun spec.

Make a 4th spec of rogue, don’t ruin an existing spec

It’s called marksman.

If anything they should make a 4th spec called Vagrant. Have it use swords/daggers.

Main filler is hemorrhage. Have it focus on bleeds.

Boom

I thought Assassin Rogue filled that niche. Unless this is a bleedy tank spec?

Have sin focus on poisons.

Sin has always been more of a poison based spec with bleed abilities.

I thought this would be a cool idea for sub. instead of gloomblade have hemorrhage as that talent and you would be allowed to use swords if you spec’d into it.

my idea for hemo would be a instant damage attack with a bleed, the instant damage would also give you a stacking damage buff, like 2% a hit up to like 10 or 15%, then going away. kind of a nod to both incarnations of hemo.

Sounds more like a talent option for assassination. And yes I understand that sub had hemo originally, but that was created back when it was still just “Rogue” and cross-spec still existed. Assassination has always been the rogue dot spec hasn’t it?

Sin has always been about poisons not bleeds.

Ok thematic difference I guess, just not a gameplay one. Either way, I think sin should be about finishers and execution mechanics, and sub should be about the openers from stealth and the gimicky shadow dancing idea. That way has a clear distinction between the two.

sub was more about bleeds. it had hemorrhage up until legion, and the earily talent tree increased Rupture damage.

assassination was a crit spec and revolved around seal fate and also had cold blood.

once the debuff cap went away I believe every spec maintained poison, garrote, snd, and rupture on the target. until legion

Funny because sub has always been about finishers and used to be bleeds.

How long have you played rogue?

And it could stay as sin about poison and sub about bleeds. Sin would build up poisons over time, culminating in an overwhelming strength toward the latter end of a fight where you execute your target with an unmatched finisher. Sub would have the option of consistent bleeds that subtly drain your health without notice.

Don’t you love when non rogues come to the forums?

I wouldn’t really say sub has “always” been about finishers… Rogue has been, and each tree had their own finishers they focused on, but I’d say over time the focus has drifted to sin.
