Is there any debate that WoW is P2W?

It does quite a bit. You might not think that difference means anything, but I just said that it’s the ability to buy power.

You’re the one trying to add additional things on top of that now.

I have already said that P2W is not binary and there are certainly significantly worse cases of it. I’m not however gonna say that anything that isn’t a worst case scenario is not P2W.

As has been pointed out already, world first guilds spend money on gear because buying up BoEs in the early days of the raid tiers offers them a distinct advantage.

Granted its sponsorship money, but it’s money all the same.

These are the people who are at the absolute cutting edge of gameplay.

This is 1% of the population.

Pay to win generally insinuates that you can buy something not realistically achievable without paying. Like Diablo immortal ect.

Buying your way to 2200 in arenas or to a high mythic key does absolutely nothing for a bad player.

Do you think a 900cr player in the 2k arena bracket is winning any games? No, they aren’t lol.

Edit: just saw that this is a super old thread

i always try and explain this to people. the people who buy KSM carries / ksh carries (lol) are NOT doing m+ after

they’re paying for the status which to them i guess is winning? but that ain’t winning to me

Keep telling yourself that. Lots of people do it just because they don’t have time. They have probably been playing more than a decade … and are better than you are.

Brutosaur p2w

You think people are buying remote play arena boosts for gold? Lol?

They are not getting any power that others can NOT get for free.
Not P2W.

Okay, and?

Of course nobody on the cutting edge buys gear if we exclude the people who buy gear on the cutting edge. That’s a dishonest argument though.

People asked what they’re winning and it’s very clear that the people who are winning the most in this game are paying real money to do so.

but that’s inconvenient to wanting to say WoW isn’t P2W so apparently those people don’t count.

By this logic Diablo Immortal isn’t Pay to Win, because you can’t mention the 1% of whales who spend absurd amounts of money.

The boosting sites … post on the boosting discords … get the classes they need … and pay them in gold . … without them knowing they are involved in rmt. And they are booked solid 24/7 365

i can tell u right now they do not boost for gold, they just advert that

sure it’s an option? maybe ?but nah this is not the same thing lol

The people that think its p2w are the ones that think getting achievements is winning, and they are winners by afking in dungeons and raids.

People like you that actually play the game use gear to facilitate their fun and the “game” is pushing yourself to the limit and not ticking off some box in your achievement tab.

Activision Blizzard pulled in 8.8 billion in revenue in 2021. 5.1 billion of that was pure microtransactions. 3.6 billion in profit. They will never ever ever ever ever give up the token sales. The entire company is making bank on it.

Pay to win does not require the items purchased be excludive to the cash shop. On your definition, Lost Ark and Diablo Immortal aren’t pay to win either because you can obtain legendary crests and gems and crystals as f2p.

All that matters is whether you can pay money to make your chaacter stronger; any other definition is arbitrary and without basis.

ever wonder why you always seem to get losers on your team that drag you down. in 2017 acti blizzard patented matchmaking that manipulates you into spending money with microtrans. Go figure.

maybe for u idk

They wont use it though… you trust them … right.

Yes it does.

You’re allowed to have an opinion. Even a wrong one. Keep trying to protect your boosts, so you don’t have to farm.

It’s not cost effective by any means for the good they need. That’s why they sell so many ce clears.

There was an interview during BFA I think that talked about how ineffective buying tokens was.

I don’t boost cupcake. Keep thinking people that are better than you boost.
