Is there an anti-Paladin class?

I’ll take what I can get, but I’d love to find a melee class that is roughly anti-Paladin in the BGs.

Hunters can pretty much shut down a paladin.

Interesting. And one more if I could - I haven’t played a Hunter since Vanilla, is Survival pure melee these days?

I have never played a hunter. My experience has been a paladin attempting to murder them.

LOL ok well thanks for the feedback.

Used to do well against them as Enhance but now that you cant purge wings or freedom (if traited) it’s much more difficult.

At least we can still purge BoP tho!

Thanks. If I ever played Enhance, I’d make a new Shammy. This dude is all caster all the time and transitioning to a total new vibe would likely short-circuit my brain. Also, Dwarf.

Mages appear to have very little issue with paladins, though less so now that they can’t just steal every buff.

Their mobility is their greatest weakness so any slippery class that can exploit that will do well enough. I’m sure balance druids are favored too- just kite while freedom’s down and hard CC with stuns or clone while it’s up. Barkskin bear against offensive bubbles.

This kinda spells it… Mage classes in general actually. Warlocks are good too…

One of their defensives is bop and that doesn’t affect casters in the least. Also casters tend to have a lot of cc which pallies are somewhat susceptible to (longish cd sac compared to premonition/shape shift/ranged shear/monk mobility).

Mage. + Spellsteal.

Outplay them and you’ll be fine.

A better geared paladin

All types of Mages …

LOL hunters give me absolutely no problems frost mages yes warlocks yes hunter nope

mage

once u land a sheep its pretty much good game. u can max distance and get off 2 gpies + insta casts etc.

BoP is worthless vs mage etc.

mage can blink and cc the pally to death. kite/block during wings and its ez pickins

Death Knight is the anti-paladin lol

Lol nope.

Any paladin in retail killed by a hunter is just bad.

A vanilla hunter, no doubt it can easilt handle a paladin, but retail, nope.

The kits have been altered drastically where hunter lost abilities (via moved to talents or outright removed) and talents that helped keep melee at range whilst paladins saw an increase to their mobility along with ranged snares.

And let’s not even talk about how bursting shot is meaningless if you have even slight lag or average FPS.

I’ve been playing classic and thought this was in the classic forum, didn’t realize I replied to the retail BG forum.

My fault for sorting by new and reading quickly.

I have practiced and practiced attacking Ret Pallys just to learn and get better at it. It wasn’t very pretty in the beginning. I’m not going to give a lot of things away except to say be prepared to use everything you got.

Here is a video from a Rogue Youtuber that does a good job of showing how to deal with Pallys. It’s meant for Arena but works in BG’s and WPVP.

Can only kill the light with darkness. (warlock/dk)
