Is there an add-on to auto-dismiss battle pets?

I was typing a post about how Rematch will automatically keep the pet you have summoned, or automatically dismiss after a battle (Options->Miscellaneous->“Keep Companion”) when I realised that AFAIK the game itself doesn’t keep pets after a battle … or does it?

I’ve been using Rematch for so long that maybe I take for granted things it does. Hm.

If you’re not using Rematch, I suggest you start now, and tick that setting.

If you are using Rematch and have that setting ticked, in what circumstance do you need to Dismiss a pet, unless you have deliberately Summoned one?

Thanks. I’d looked through the Rematch settings and missed that one.

When you put a new pet in slot one, the game summons it.
