Is there a way to unlock covenants without going through the story line?

So, in shadowlands we could skip the campaign and story line. now i dont think we can. how do i unlock it without doing the quests?
im level 80. this character hasnt done it but the others have.

I think you need to do the campaign once and then on all of your other dudes you can skip it.

is there a specific unllock for the " other character " to trigger the skip? currently on another character but cant skip or atleast cant find the skip.
used to be a twist of fate. then hit cap. auto skip the story. but twist of fate dosnt work anymore.

I believe you have to unlock Twist of Fate’s by completing the campaign entirely.

Is this an Alliance/Horde alt situation? But it very well could be broken unfortunately.

lmao.

Oh. I hadn’t realized that. Is it a bug? I thought all alts got the option once they skipped the maw with Nazgrim.

im prettty sure they removed twist of fate
unsure tho

Yes. There is also an item you can buy that makes you Instant 60 Renown. Provided you have maxed out 1 toon before.

This should answer all your questions OP

Blizzard only removed it as a leveling option due to them adding Shadowlands to Chromie Time with Dragonflight. If you have yet to go to the Shadowlands on a character that is level 60 or higher, you can still access threads of fate.

You just go to either Nazgrim or Darion (depending on faction) and choose to skip the Maw intro. Upon entering Oribos, you will be given the choice between choosing the main campaign or Threads of Fate.

If you go to the shadowlands at any point prior to level 60, that toon is locked out of choosing Threads of fate and must to do the main campaign. Yes that includes if the toon is level 59 and only 1 xp point off level 60.

Also any character that had already started Threads of Fate when Dragonflight launched are still in it.

IIRC, you need to go talk to whoever-it-is in your capital city, then you can skip the maw (maybe by talking to another character, I forget), then when you reach oribos, I think you get the chance to choose it, you might have to talk to the fatescribe, or someone at the table, though, been a little while.

A friend helped me get it started on a toon that had been just doing whatever in the shadowlands, and I later (with some trial and error) helped a friend on a toon that hadn’t gone. Both during Dragonflight.

Yes, its odd and frustrating. While it may have worked during the expansion, at this time in the game ToF should be available, its the ideal time for it. So it just doesn’t make sense.

PS: my suggestion, go ingame to the Suggestion page and put in the idea of it being made available since Slands is now well past its use by date. Maybe they will, they have listened to us on such things before.

I can 100% confirm Twists of Fate are still in the game, having used it to skip the campaign just the other week.

What you need to do to be eligible, i do not remember, it was something like needing to have a character who has completed the first chapter of your covenant’s campaign. The downside is if you’ve stepped foot even once in shadowlands on a character before being eligible, you can never get it to trigger

Nope. The covenant feature is baked into Shadowlands. Have to do the campaign to unlock covenants fully and reap the cool rewards like transmogs, mounts. etc.

Assuming you’ve done it once already, on alts you tell Bolvar and his entourage in Org/Stormwind that you’ve heard this before and you get teleported to Oribos and can select your covenant.

If you made the grave miscalculation of starting the campaign, I think you’re cooked. If not, let me know cause this mage is slowly blasting her way through the campaign again and it’s horrendous.

So, yes it can be skipped, but, you need to have completed it fully at least once.

Once you do that, any time a character above level 60 goes to Oribos for the first time, you’ll be treated to the same experience that you got when you wanted to do Threads of Fate back in the day. Time will be ‘frozen’, you’ll have the Fatescribe in front of you and he’ll ask you if you want to skip the campaign or play through it normally.

Now if you’ve already started the campaign normally and you’ve gotten to max level (or at least above level 60) all you have to do is find the Fatescribe in Oribos and he’ll give you the same option. It will skip all main campaign quests, forfeiting all rewards that you would have gained and you’ll be able to go straight to covenant selection.
