Wondering if there is a way?
Not in Classic
Yep. Don’t quest, kill anything, or explore.
Alternatively, ding level 60.
That would be a cool feature to have in Classic. It works great in City of Heroes.
However, if it was added, it wouldn’t be Classic any more.
If you’re asking because you want to twink, there’s no xp in BGs so you’re good in that regard.
Yes by laying down your arms and embracing a more enlightened way of a non violent life.
I believe that retail has a lot of features. You could try there.
Dunno why people are fighthing this, it would be great for twinking instead of delete the character because you didn’t get the gear you are looking for to twink and start over if you “accidently” overlevel.
Is anyone fighting this? I don’t think anyone is fighting this.
It isn’t part of this game. We don’t design the game – we just play it.
There’s quite a few things in game that “weren’t in the game” yet they are there. People were fighting that too. Again, god forbid fighting about something that removes gaining exp because you don’t want it will not hurt you, me, or the game.
Twinking should not be more enabled than it is
by that logic, playing the game how APES plays shouldn’t be enabled as it is. But yet, here we are.
what
Is that game still running? I had forgotten I even owned it and played it, no kidding it’s been that long. It had some cool ideas but ultimately they gave out flying as an option and it was just so damn good that no one didn’t take it.
It shut down in 2013, but returned in 2019 as City of Heroes: Homecoming.
So it’s back? Original version of one of the well intended but kinda bad updates?
Issue 24 (I think that is now what it is called) which was left undone prior to the shutdown was finished in Homecoming.
Moreover, new character customization (like being able to put different boots or gloves on either arm rather in pairs) was added.
We don’t need exp disabled. This killed queue times in wraith and then transmog was added along with boa’s and 90 percent of items in the game became useless and better off vendored or disenchanted. Instead of farming twink items for gold people just started buying wow tokens for real life cash, it eliminated so many aspects of the game.
Do like everyone else, stop questing at level ten and start buying your dungeon runs for gear, plan out what quests you need and do them at the earliest level. Most people are fully done with their gear by level 17 or 18 minus like one piece they need from a higher level quest. I actually had to go grind mobs for a level on my rogue because I got everything I needed before 19.
The only time this actually became a challenge was later on when blizzard added small benefits to professions, like herblore and skinning. Then getting that extra 2 percent crit from maxing your skinning was a little harder in addition to getting your dungeon items, but real twinkers still managed to do it.
The only class that really requires some creativity at 19 to gear is hunter if you go for a true BIS setup, because you have to get timbermaw rep while dead the whole time for the offhand pouch, and if you want the hardest top end bow as horde you have to do a quest chain in hillsbrad while dead while a higher level kills the mobs for you. That’s about it, no need for disabling exp in classic.
That’s sort of genius.
I wanted this feature, but not for twinking. I wanted it so that I could do level appropriate dungeons at a challenging level multiple times. And to do all of the level appropriate dungeons at a challenging level. There’s really no way that you can run both WC and Deadmines and do the related quests without being over leveled for one of them. You certainly can’t do one of them multiple times and then do the other at the appropriate level.
I tried camping outside of an inn but you still get rested xp bonus, just less of it.
