Wanted to come back to the game, thought renown carried over, someone told me that was a change. Switched covenants, didn’t carry over. Not really trying to do the prove your worth questline to go back and be gimped a week while I wait for the part 2 of the quest line. Just seeing if I can skip this quest before refunding the sub.
You can. Should be able to drop it as they changed it a while ago so you can swap freely, only thing that doesn’t carry over is renown or Anima but you can buy a token for 500 gold that gives you 40 renown.
Renown also pretty much is rewarded for everything you do so getting to 80 isn’t a big deal anymore.

to add to this post besides making my own, I never finished korthia, If I were to level/boost a char do I have to redo all of the maw/korthia crap or can i skip all that to current things.
it wont switch me until I complete the quest, if I drop it how do Is swap?
You have to have a character with 80 renown on that account before you can freely switch covenants. I have no idea if you can skip that Prove quest. But you should probably just stay and level your current covenant, since gaining renown is very fast these days.
Also, renown isn’t shared between covenants. You level each one separately. But you don’t lose progress on one when you swap to another.
