I’m sure how he thinks it’ll go down its they’ll ask and he’ll lie and they’ll believe him and when they finish the dungeon he’ll laugh and say “It was Dio all along!” thereby proving that good players don’t need RIo and the scales will fall from our eyes and we’ll bow down and worship him for delivering us from the darkness of RIo and unto the light of trusting every pug with ilvl.
no, they won’t
It makes perfect sense. People with good scores wouldnt hide them. And a person going out of their way to hide it doesnt exactly scream “Im am honest person and you can totally trust me to accurately tell you my score”.
That’s not how the real world works. Why should anyone trust what you have to say about your own score? lol
no group would accept you if your score is hidden.
You can’t hide it and even worse, if you don’t constantly update it you… look even worse?
I know how you feel.
Shrug, it will actually just make it far worse if IO is bothering you now.
When I am filling my guild runs with PuG, I use IO. But its not like I’ll just grab the highest IO - I often won’t because when you get over 1200 IO you tend to be more of a quitter in general than those in the 800-1000 range. Why? Because the only thing that benefits you is a timed run, completion is a “waste of time.”
So just don’t assume that IO has to be high to get into groups, its just a tool and often a very helpful one.
Example: If I am running a Siege+10, I’m not going to bring someone who has never done Siege+4 or better… they just won’t understand the mechanics. If you hide your score, then I have no choice but to assume you don’t know the mechanics and thus, insta decline.
That’s assuming low raider up scores are to be ashamed a of when I see one I see someone new to the key scene
My issue isn’t with the score; my issue is that Raider IO tracks and reports you even if you don’t use the addon.
so your issue is with blizzard. R.io is just using publicly available data, anyone with an API key can do the same thing.
I guess so, yes.
Raider IO is wonderful. I just wish they would change this one thing.
what thing? you can opt out and hide your data
With who? Blizzard, or Raider IO?
raiderio
I don’t think blizz has any means in which to hide your data from the pool of data available via the API
the below link is to the raiderio support article on how to hide your stuff.
Well, therein is the problem.
You shouldn’t have to give more information to a company, for them to show less information.
Raider IO should only be able report players who have opted in.
I don’t see it as a problem, as it’s not personally identifiable data, nor is it data we (the consumer) owns.
Blizz would have no realistic way of enforcing an opt-in system for third party websites. they’d have to do it on their end, which creates new levels of complexity.
also, i paused in farming the things I was killing underwater while I was thinking about this and drowned. thanks, raiderio
lol
Just roll as Prot and you’ll get invited to groups. I stink and play the Tank card to get into runs
Nope. Especially not if you’re DPS. There are already 100+ other DPS applying, all of whom already bring more utility than a warrior – they’ll just pick one they can see without even giving you a second thought.
Like, if you’re expecting to get whispered over a bad score, that basically doesn’t happen. People who want a filler look at a big freaking list of DPS applicants – and I’m not sure you grasp just how big that list gets in just a few minutes – with ilvl and IO exposed, and they pick one. That’s it. If they can’t see the IO, they’ll assume a zero and move another line down.
I think you can hide your RIO profile, but having no RIO info is the same as having a 0 score.
No… they’ll decline you without talking to you at all. Not sure why you’re getting declined though… your score is over 1k… Well other than you’re a DPS warrior.
