Too bad that the object of the arena map is to control all 4 pillars while mining renown and bringing a cart from one side of the map to the other and then killing the end boss.

Now, I’m no game dev or game programmer, but I imagine it shouldn’t be too difficult to simply “copy-paste” these existing maps into the rotation. More variety is always a good thing.
I’d take anything new since all the maps are a decade old or so.
And the latest update to the maps was just to improve their UI and make certain things HD finally. They could do so much more
They should put the limited resource for PvP into fixing up maps we already have instead of creating new ones.
I wouldn’t object to more model revamps like they did Warsong and Arathi, or more variations of capture the flag or Arathi.

but don’t think you will see it often, since most the map we randomly are always the same, GW, the pandaria one, etc… even if they don’t add more, they could add more interesting effects to each, like snow. a lava terrain. change the atmosphere etc…

I would argue that simply copy-pasting existing maps into the rotation uses less dev resources/man-hours than trying to “fix” the existing maps. I bet one of their underling/entry level devs could take care of it in a day or two, leaving the more senior devs to work on other/more important matters.
For example, copy-pasting Southshore vs Tarren Mill into the rotation is obviously far less dev resources/man-hours/work than trying to “fix” say, Wintergrasp (…would require a total overhaul and take tons of man-hours).
They could have the playerbase make maps for them and pick from the selection.
Very likely do better work too.

Sticking more things into the rotation does not fix anything. Yes, it’s probably much easier to add something that already exists in to the rotation. I would rather - if resource is as limited as it seems - they spend that time, no matter how “easy” it would be, to fix maps we already have in the rotation.
You like decade plus maps still? Not bored of them? theyre as fixed as theyre gonna get likely. I’d rather have new and interesting things put forth.
Warsong Gulch is probably the best Battleground that they ever made or will ever make.
The latest additions have been a revamped Deepwind Gorge, Seething Shore, Wintergrasp, Ashran, Temple and Silvershard Mines.
Yeah, pretty sure I’d take the three original maps over any of those listed.

Guess you’re one of the few that don’t mind very old things. Long as they make em better once in a while… cough cough… years.
Always easier to buff something up a bit than make new and fun things to do.
