Is there a reason to have slam on my actionbar as arms?

What would be the point of FoB if you still used slam.

Or if you’re trying to kill something and don’t want to pop the poly/break the trap beside it.

Wow, I didn’t know you could use talents as a condition in a macro. Thanks!!

I think the only time you’d want to use slam over whirlwind with the FoB talent is if you are next to a CC’d target that breaks on damage, which can sometimes happen in PvP arena.

edit - Oops, Shirt beat me to it.

in pvp i use rend, in pve i use skull splitter. So i just swap that action bar slot with whichever talent. I do the same for cleave and stormbolt. Definitely not the best way to do it but this works for me.

youd never use fob

because u have to use the idiotic designed aoe colossus smash

because this is diablo 4 afk arena legends

The two are not mutually exclusive talents.

ROFL man I’d say this guy’s doing a bit but you can’t make this kind of ignorance up.

Personally I run slam over FoB for single target. Whirlwind costs a bit more rage than slam (30 vs 20), so you can theoretically cast more slams during the encounter. That’s just my take on it. Some people prefer FoB over just slam. Work with what fits your playstyle. =)

What does this mean. Slam is not a talent.

Never said it was.

With fervor whirlwind is better than slam.

However there’s a chance you may not want to aoe if there’s a target nearby that’s been polymorphed, hexed ect. Now most dungeons and PvP fights are relatively spacious so idk how often it’ll happen but uh
that’s the only thing I can think of.

There are reasons you still need to keep slam on your bar even with FoB talented: to target things that cannot be AoE’d. For example, explosives in M+: whirlwind won’t use the auto spam on explosives even when targeted. Same go for “totem” enemies: they must be individually targeted down with direct single target attacks. It’s good to be easy for those occasional situations.

Plus, FoB could possibly stop being the go to when Shadowlands finally arrives. I like the flexibility of using all my skills.

It hasn’t been the go to for many months.

Overpower exists. Additionally, FoB slam works on explosives.

I still used it all the way up to pre-patch. Something about my Tauren spinning really fast was amusing.

Slam costs 20 rage.
WW costs 30.
Seems to me the benefit of having Slam is rage efficiency. Even with FoB Slam still has a place. YMMV

The question then becomes “Is Whirlwind’s damage (to this single target) worth 10 Rage?”

If Whirlwind itself does even half Slam’s effective damage, unless you have procs per skill (rather than per hit, as WW does 3) or stacking effect per skill in a given window (e.g. Collateral Damage), quicker spending is generally better.

But, I suppose that’s where the “YMMV” comes in.

I’m sorry. I don’t mean to bring it up again, but what about an AoE colossus smash screams “poorly designed” to you? It’s the exact same ability but hits more than a single target. Great for 2 target cleave, maybe stacking with blade storm for burst AoE. If you don’t need the AoE don’t take the talent.

I’m not saying wow doesn’t have design problems and Arms right now has some anti synergy. But war breaker isn’t it. Your vendetta against this talent confuses me.

Condense Hamstring, Charge, and Intervene in one macro to save action bar space.
Also Overpower + Ignore Pain if you are PvPer.

i use consistently, best filler ability in my opinion.
