All I want to do is go through the storyline and finish all the work I’ve done to finally get my mount but I can’t because you can’t queue for the darn dungeon!
Who thought that this was a good idea to make a new dungeon mythic only???
WHY not make it a regular dungeon AND have it mythic for those that care about that stuff??
It’s double the length of a normal dungeon; way too long for a group-finder dungeon.
When they split up the dungeon for M+ (hopefully a mid-season patch, but more likely 8.3), they’ll almost certainly add normal / heroic queues for each section. Same as Khazan -> Upper / Lower in Legion. Until then, you’ll need to join a mythic dungeon group - it’s pretty tough now, but after a few weeks of 8.2 gear inflation it’ll feel much easier.
I also am not a raider nor mythic runner, and that is coming down to a huge strike against me and others I’ve talked to. Those such as us cannot get invited if we’re not part of a guild who runs Operation: Mechagon, knows someone, or are willing to pay for a run.
A few hours after it went live, I went looking for a group for it. Nope, not at all, not a one. I spent little over an hour, declines or being left hanging while the 5 min timer ticked down. I went off, did a bit of Nazjatar content, came back about two or so hours later, same thing.
I’m guessing Operation: Mechagon will be dropped down to heroic as Siege of Boralus was…but meanwhile, non-mythic players are being walled, blocked, gated because of how the new playground is taken over by those who are. It isn’t fair, no, but it’s just how this always works out. Hard core vs casuals…again.
You probably didn’t know this but Seige and Kings Rest were both Mythic only when they first came out. That was due to the story line.
If a group will not accept you then jump in and make your own group that way you get to choose people who have no clue and can experience the pain of massive failure together. Who knows maybe you will make it through after 6 hours of wiping.
Warning: That dungeon is brutal and even the smallest mistake will cause a wipe.
You’re a warrior, get a decent weapon + shield + azerite traits
switch to prot and learn to tank
make your own group
you will have competent and overgeared people flooding the que
use M+ score from raider. io website to gauge their competence in your mechagon run based on previous dungeon experience, M+ score is not based on mechagon but it helps screen applicants
tell people in your group they need to be patient learning the mechanics, like 1-2 hours+
Otherwise you can sit there whining while sitting applying as DPS specs and compete with the thousands of other DPS, these days for mythic dungeon groups it is approximately 1 tank for every 10 healers for every 100 DPS applicants
As long as you can make your own group there is no one ‘gating’ you. There is NOTHING hardcore about making and running a mythic dungeon group. Stop rationalizing your laziness AND GO TRY IT. Stop typing your complaints here AND GO TRY IT.
Oh and enchant your weapons/rings, anyone who looks at your profile will think you are supremely lazy for not doing such simple things
Court of stars>arcway>return to karazhan>siege of Boralus>kings rest>mechagon. Been a recurring theme for a bit now, don’t expect a heroic puggable version for a bit. Honestly the hunter and warrior in this thread are plenty geared enough to do enough dps to manage the dungeon, some of it hits hard and has some mechanics but nothing drastic. Took us about 1.5 hours with a few wipes to boss learning.
Mechagon was designed much like the karazhan release of legion it’s meant to be a challenging dungeon not simply a story mode run. My suggestion is to get your naz pearl gear and level it up then read the raider io or icy veins guides and run it.
Well there’s plenty of easy gear to get from emissaries and the benthic system and rings/trinket from mechagon, so that takes care of the undergeared issue for ‘casuals’
As for underskilled well that’s what guides, videos and practicing is for. If you don’t want to put in the effort to learn and improve yourself then wait for the eventual faceroll heroic version to be released where you can succeed while half AFK, drunk and slamming random buttons, all the while proclaiming that anyone who puts in serious effort is ‘elitist’.
litterally no one in this thread except for the hardcore elitists (as always) have given a decent explanation as to why a standard heroic version was not released at the same time.
Get off your high horses and think about all of the people playing just for the fun of it and getting all of the story.
There is no reason why this dungeon was not made with both versions available from the get go
They are meant to be 5 man raids. Almost every expansion has had some sort of end game, small group content.
Before the end of the expansion, I’m sure they’ll add a nerfed version to the group finder, they just want to keep completing the dungeon somewhat challenging for a bit.
It does kind of suck in the mean time for people like yourself who don’t have an interest in content tailored that way, and I can’t imagine why they didn’t add something like that, maybe on the same LFR schedule for story-moders.
For the record, I am working on Benthic and getting those leveled up. I’m not being lazy and I don’t want to be carried. I want to earn what I get and I do when I can. And I do actually watch the Fatboss vids and read up on fights, but I tend to learn better when I actually do the fights and mechanics.
I see listings of “chill group” or “we’re learning” or “it’s our first time” or “be patient” and other variations, I apply to those when they’re still getting dps for their group. It’s either declined or letting the 5 min timer run down.
As for the suggestion of going Prot, I’d rather not. I’ve tried tanking. I don’t have the head for it and I honestly don’t care for it. I’ve had a Paladin, a Death Knight, a Monk, finally settled on the Fury Warrior because I like the way it plays. Why should I or anyone else have to change game play and spec, just to get into content which should be had by all, hardcore and casual alike?
Thank you again, all, for your views. Good hunting and best of luck as you go through your mythics.
It’s a 5 men, untimed dungeon that’s challenging, it’s what the casual crowd’s been clamoring for this entire time. Now people are complaining it’s too hard…
Which do you want? To play the spec you want and struggle to find groups, or see the content you want on a spec that isn’t your preference? You can’t always get everything you want.
You also can’t be declined from a group you make yourself, and you would additionally see first hand the quantity of dps you’re in queue with when you’re being declined.
