Is there a reason to have flight stones?

Can we just remove flight stones?

The only reason they exist is to make the system more complicated. Blizzard could easily get rid of them but they love making things unnecessarily complicated.

They do seem pretty unnecessarily.

We have crests already to handle upgrades, I don’t know why flightstones need to also exist.

They are the only currency needed for upgrading explorer and lower-level adventurer gear, but really, they should just be a fifth crest below whelpling and not required to upgrade higher-level gear at all.

They exist to force us to carry folks farm lower-end content so we can upgrade our gear to do higher end content. It’s a terrible great system. Especially when playing healer.

Because on this dev team part of their employee contracts state that everyone gets to invent their own currency. Even the cafeteria and janitorial staff.

And strangely, the best ideas come from these people.

Actually they exist for the opposite reason. lol

If you can’t beat a 17, then you’re dropping back down to a 15/16 and those are too easy so you can out gear the 17. So tell me please why exactly this currency exists.

because they wanted a single, common currency–or so they said before season 2. Unfortunately they didn’t stick to the “single” part.

I think they wanted another, more global vector with which to control the speed of upgrading. I’m not saying they don’t control this in other ways (crests) just that they wanted one that would affect everyone.

Well all it does is force us into easier content and/or content we’d rather not do just so we can out gear and out pace the content we’re not being invited to failing to do.

I don’t care care that it exists. I care that you get almost double the crests in comparison to the amount of Flightstones you need to boost up.

The whole cheaper ilvl upgrade is just as annoying. I reckon we need something to create a grind but double grinding flightstones feels like a punishment. Probably a mindset on my part but good lord.

Blizzard is just like Reddit and discord mods.

I wonder if it is to encourage crafting. Not enough flightstones to upgrade my gear but I could craft something with all the crests I have. But that doesn’t seem likely.

How does that have anything to do with flightstones? That just means you couldn’t do the higher key. :dracthyr_shrug:

And let’s keep in mind that you also said this:

Thereby not specifying actual key levels and 17s aren’t low.

You get less flightstones from low keys. On purpose to make it the least efficient way to farm them.

Seems like their purpose is to throttle gear upgrades and crafted upgrades for people who farm crests effectively.

If you can’t beat it in group-based gameplay.

Many of the folks here would disagree with you. And all of them are likely repping 475+ level gear. So in a sense, completing this current season is overpowering it.

This isn’t the style of game where “going for the challenge” is what most of the players are willing to do. If they can overpower it they will.

I still don’t know how that corellates to flightstones.

Again, I still don’t understand what this has to do with what I’m saying.

You get less flightstones in lower keys. They specifically told us this is why we get less flightstones for lower keys. So I don’t know why anyoneis wasting time trying to run low keys when it’s the least efficient way. If you can’t complete a 17, then you can’t complete it. You’re doing a lower key regardless of anything else. :dracthyr_shrug:

This was a very confusing conversation for me and I don’t want to frustrate you having to deal with me not understanding, so I’ll bow out. :slightly_smiling_face:

To be completely honest, they are a backup system to the crests to block your progression and to force your participation in the zone. That is all they are there for.

Aren’t gear upgrades already limited by the weekly crest caps?

Crafting wasn’t throttled by anything though. By the end of season 2 you could just get a whole crafted set out of the gate.

I didn’t say it made sense or was a good system.
