Is there a reason for casuals to really play anymore

Honestly, as a casual, this is all I want. I dont get to see some important plot points because they happen in a raid. I dont even know when the stuff with the horde council happens.

the biggest gap these days isnt casuals and hardcore people, its the ones who take a break for any amount of time during these timegated mechanics and get jipped.

I came back after a year, can easily sink in 10 hours a day for a week straight and there is no way i can ever catch any casual or hardcore person that has played since day 1 of 8.3, the corruption vendor being rotational, visions costing so much and the need to save for your corruption cycle instead of upgrading your cloak hurts.

And dont hit me with the “well why should you get stuff quicker than others” because this whole stupid xpac and patch is a giant meme that blizzard thinks is funny, its ridiculous how crap state the game is right now. If they are gonna give stuff to people that does 40% of their damage, they should give it to everyone. because without it, there is zero point in trying to do anything competitive.

I’m definitely a casual as these days I have very little play time. Many days I don’t manage to get on at all.

I don’t do end game content. Partly because I don’t much like it, but also because I can’t. It’s not possible for me to gear up and do the content to get the gear I need to do end game.

I don’t have time for dungeons let alone raids.

I don’t do the visions. Nada, nil, zip. I have maybe 20 minutes to a half an hour of dedicated play time. I may end up being able to play longer, but it’s not something I can count on.

This isn’t Blizz’s problem, it’s mine. It’s life. I deal. lol

But it does lock me out of a large part of the game which isn’t really terrific. There is content I would like to do but I can’t. Again, this is my problem. Just kind of sucks sometimes. lol

I don’t need the cloak as I don’t raid, do dungeons or arena’s/battlegrounds.

It’s just that WoW is fun, and there is soo much of the game I can’t do. It’s frustrating. And yes, my problem. It’s still frustrating. :persevere:

Pro Tip:
You are way too “positive”.
You need to moderate yourself in these forums. I suggest you read some H.P. Lovecraft stories or articles about “Nihilism”. Otherwise, some might call you a “WhiteKnight” or “FanBoy” because you do not dislike the game.

Im a casual … im sorry you have no guild or friends , or that you simply have no clue on how to get ready for endgame quickly . I was in Nya’lotha on its release , granted on normal at 1st , i went into heroic right afterward …

Look at my raider io score , my logs , im a freaking casual , yet i have tons of content to do …

Yes and no… It’s still a lot of grinding and RNG based. It was more casual friendly back in Lich King where non-raiders could just farm badges then buy gear from the badge vendors. This is how FF14 still works and it’s far more casual friendly than WoW is right now. It’s designed so that you can get pretty good gear but you don’t have to put in a tone of time to get it. WoW forces you to put in at least three times as much time a week.

I think casual play is fine.
True casual play is normal dungeon and raids. We get the resolution of the story… and that’s it.

Replaying content in Heroic and Mythic/ M+ modes is like New Game+. They’re extra challenges for after you’re done. It’s an invitation for casuals to invest more time but it’s not necessary. You’re actually done with the game. Unless you don’t want to be done…

Low ilvl trash gear has no power. What game are you playing?

Normal and heroic dungeons have been made pointless so casuals will be forced to “step up their game” and push high keys. Or at least pay hundreds of thousands of gold weekly to greedy mythic raiders who earn a living selling carries.

That’s like saying mythic raiding is “an invitation to casuals to invest more time”. There’s really nothing of interest for casuals to do long. Casual pvp used to be for casuals. Now it’s just more free setasides for raiders.

What do you mean normal dungeons are pointless?

Normal dungeons in BfA are intended to help gear up after hitting 120, then never do them again.

I feel this post so much, OP. I miss playing my feral druid. But good luck getting into groups as feral these days -_-

Dungeons set you up for the normal raid. After that you’re done, if we’re playing casual…
What am I missing?

lol… okay

Perhaps you’re missing the fact that normal dungeons droup 400 gear, which is useful only for getting into heroic dungeons. Which drop 410 gear, which is nowhere near high enough for raiding.

I think you’re over gearing going into the normal raid.
Probably compensating hrmmm?

You are way underestimating the ilvl that groups are requiring.

This has been a part of the game since Classic. Anyone remember trying to grind out the darn Talbuk mounts with beads in Nagrand?

Talbuk’s were TBC, not Classic. Classic was easier on rep grinds. It had some, yes, but they weren’t time-gated. You could kill mobs for rep, or wear tabards in dungeons for rep. It had way fewer than what TBC introduced.

I recall. However, since TBC came after Classic, it just reaffirms that rep grinds have been around forever

A mount grind sounds optional.

I understand people have high expectations for ilvl… but that’s a different issue.
The normal raid experience is tuned fine for casual play.

People want to go super powered to make things easier then we’re not playing casual anymore
