Is there a reason faction change is 30 USD?

And server transfer is only 25 USD?

Transfering a server I’d assume is far more intensive than a faction change, which is really just a fancy race change…which race change is 25 USD.

It should be the opposite. Server transfer=30 USD, race/faction change=25 USD.

There is nothing different really between a faction and a race change these days anyway, horde can do most stuff with alliance these days and vice versa. And the faction divide is eroding quickly.

Either way…its just weird a server transfer is cheaper to me is all, when I don’t mind paying 30 USD for a server transfer at all…but far less likely to pay 30 USD for a simple faction change thats really just a reworded race change lol. And even if it wasn’t a fancy reworded race change, its still more expensive than a server transfer which makes my brain go “this is weird and not worth getting”

Either way, imo the prices should be flipped.

They probably sell more faction changes. And since they also control the supply (which is essentially infinite) they have the liberty to sell it for a higher premium.

Faction change is a little more involved than a race change though, because there’s also faction-specific quest chains, rewards, etc.

Because people are willing to pay for it.

Previously the price was set to put emphasis on the fact that factions mattered and you could really only play with your faction.

Times have changed but that price sure won’t.

Factions are more complex than swapping a server. Reps and quests and other things need taken into account and changed.

all prices should be the same and much cheaper.

if they were cheaper, more people would more likely take the plunge.

and extend the time frame before changes can be done again. i.e. 30 days to 90 days (or something).

Once upon a time your character and their journey meant something.
So the price was high to dissuade people from using it.

Now this isnt a factor, but hey, why lower the price for their effort free automatic service if people will pay it regardless?
