I got my first chat ban recently and got a list of mundane pvp call outs for solo
“Healer sucks go for him”
“Looks like a 3/3”
“Meh” ( no idea why that was listed)
“Why are there so many glad mounts in 1700?”
I’m going to be honest this kinda messes with my day. I had planned to quickly pug my weekly before reset. I have zero doubt this will be overturned but does blizzard do anything to prevent abuse or should I just not use in game chat?
Will make one once its resolved. Rather annoyed by it and was posting more out of that frustration. I guess the lesson is to not leave weekly events till monday
This reminds me of the Riot forums where people would make posts like this, then the CM would come in with the real chat log and put the poster on blast for all the things they really said.
I mean I just have a ticket open. Its rather mundane im just annoyed it happened.
I can see why most of the noted things were calling out what players sucked… but its solo queue that’s how its played. You fall in on weak healers or exploit a struggling dps.
So… Im going to call shenanigan’s on this. When they give you a chat suspension or any type of action, they just tell you the rule you violated. They dont list your violations. And normally if you got report bombed, they will review your chat logs and see if there were any violations. If there were, you will or will not be actioned against.
Yes. They have a reporting function in game, that people can use to report abusive or offensive chat, in addition to spam. This system automates warnings, and if it gets enough warnings, it gets sent for review. The chat logs are reviewed and if violations are found, actions are taken.
Occasionally mistakes will be made, but when someone’s reaction is to come to the forums on an alt and claim they did nothing wrong… they usually did something wrong.
I wish you the best of luck in your efforts… but you can always remember… If you are just nice to the other players, there will be no problems.
I never received a warning… just an email saying players had reported me and I had been silenced for seven days. It had an option to open a ticket for review. There isn’t any indication it was reviewed first.
If you got the 7 day silence, then you did in fact violate the chat rules. The option to review is to have a GM look it over and double check it. But if you got the action, then it most likely was found to hold weight.
This as well. Normally you get a first warning. Then anything from 24 hour to 3 day. Or potentially a 7 day. Then further and further.
Again. If you are just nice to people, you wont have the issue.
I don’t know. If I did say something line crossing I didn’t see it in the little box they gave me. All I can do is wait. It just came off as automated from the way it was written.
