Is there a mod that monitors connectivity?

wow has the little built in internet ping bar that turns from green to red or whatnot but it seems generally ineffective in real time. a mod that could detect internet connectivity degradation closer to real time might help prevent deaths by d/c. it would not help for sudden drops when in the middle of a fight, but if there was a sign your connection was fading it may prevent you from engaging in a fight under less than ideal conditions.

generally speaking, if i can see other player characters moving normally my internet is good. i get paranoid about d/c’s when i can’t either see other players moving or mobs are slow in respawning. so far, it would seem, that when in doubt if i go to the game menu and attempt to log out and it proceeds immediately my connection is likely good. if not, i have dropped but don’t know it. i have had a problem in the past when my connection is basically gone but i am still getting game chat although my character is frozen. if i try to log out and it doesn’t immediately go to the countdown, i tab out and get to task manager and close the program.

just wondering if people have other tips to prevent d/c deaths.

Toss a buff, use an ability, use a bandage or anything the like. It will give you a good idea of latency without having to interact with a mob.

I use rejuv on my Druid if I’m suspicious of connectivity.

My UI addon (ElvUI) has an option to see latency/fps, I can hover over that info and it also shows home and game latency. Very helpful since Comcast put too many customers on my node a couple months ago and it becomes terrible/unplayable at prime time. When it gets near 200 I log off and do something else.
Getting a different provider next week.
