Is there a hope of changes to feral druid in patch 8.3?

We really need some tweaking and especially something that gives us an improvement in the burst, because Beserk is a bad joke. In August of 2018 some changes were made and some promises of other good changes were made. Something that has not been realized until today. I wonder if there is a chance we will see the removal of bloodtalons and any improvement in the class that will allow us to act in a more balanced manner compared to the other classes.

Why do we need to remove Blood Talons? Just because you don’t enjoy the okay style doesn’t mean I don’t

I’m sure there was some work on Feral talents for 8.1, or 8.15. most classes are not getting anything more than a very minor tuning, and lucky if they even get that.

If there are any substantial changes, will be in the next expansion and it’s prepatch.

Although im hoping for some feral updates, im personally ok if there are none. Im already out-dpsing everyone im competing against in M+ dungeons (done with raiding until next tier), so they definately have potential. However, I would expect some heavy changes or reworks come next expansion.

Berserk is a sick joke… 3 min CD for what lol, doesnt even provide any bonus damage. Also FB need that bonus energy requirement removed.
Just make it 30-35 energy and feral would be amazing.
Also rip could use a 10-15% damage increase and give us back our 25-50% bonus hidden haste, and dont make it hidden, make it a passive.
Brutal Slash and Rake could use a 10-20% damage increase as well.
Rake is too borning, it needs some new fun additions like Rake crits will increase the damage of your next finisher by 1-2% stacking up to 5-10 times or Rake crits reduce the CD of beserk or Tigers Fury by x amount of seconds.

Rip is kind of boring too, could use a new passive, Rip crits do 2.25-2.5x damage.
Thrash direct damage crits should also enrage your feral increasing the damage we do by 20% for like 2-3 seconds. Making it something you wouldnt fish for but when it did happen, a happy moment.

That’s what happens when you suddenly delete snapshotting from all buffs while only thinking about the mainstream specs and then try to bandaid a spec over 3 expansions without proper re-work.

All I’m going to say is don’t dare FORCE us to take Savage Roar again, shouldn’t even be in the game anymore.

I agree with you. There should be an internal class design cap of how many buffs and bleeds you should have to manage to play optimally.

I found the end of legion, with the various legendary and artifact abilities pretty fun to control. The druid ring for free ferocious bites was immensely satisfying, shadow thrash, the claw ability thing, the 23y thrash legendary was hilarious and great, the synergizing legendaries like the one that increased tiger’s fury duration on bites, so forth.
For the annoyance and RNG that legendaries created, the actual effects they conveyed were actually fun and interesting. Azerite stuff is both RNG and un-satisfying.
Frankly, near-end legion feral was great for a bit.

The talents are just weird now, too. A number of the PvE talents are taken by no one, unless just messing around. There were at least some fights where it was worthwhile to take lunar inspiration previously… It’s also strange that Incarnation’s burst ability is so lackluster, and damage outside of it ‘gimped’ enough, that it’s not worth taking, even on fights where you need a burst window.

No joke there! The playstyle was entirely different depending on your legendaries and actually felt good. If only we had Primal Wrath back then.

Didn’t need it becaues BrS was much better back then.

This is a comment on brutal slash, and also possibly a negative point about “legion” feral:

The shadow thrash with the appropriate legendary and setup was actually more powerful total damage than slash, anyway. The need for improved aoe wasn’t such a problem like it was at the start of BFA.

The AOE rotation was generally, “press 1 alot” (1 is thrash for me). To do feral corretly, one still needed to tab-rake on 3-5 packs since rake was a relatively strong DOT with Jagged wounds, but shadow thrash was the heavy lifter for straight-up AOE.

Although, regarding the rotation being too simple, the rotation isn’t very much more interesting now… it’s basically spam swipe and use wrath or a bite at 5 CP. Without jagged wounds shortening the duration and strength of the bleed ticks, tab-raking is of dubious value, even on smaller pulls. Shadow thrash and the legion rotation just felt more satisfying to execute.

I was diehard feral for many expansions. Havnt touched him in the last 3-4.
Let me clarify, mostly pvp. Some raids and dungeons but mostly pvp.
I have yet to see just ONE feral druid dominate any pvp realm. They just completely suck. Its sad. Now, granted, being unrootable and on the call heals, plus the speed make them a real challenge for mages but honestly, their bleeds are barely noticed. Might be the weakest DoT in the game outside of Ignite. Why would any feral build up 5 combo points and waste it on Rip? FB > Rip all day. Only if the situation calls for it, Rogue or another feral.
Even still, rogues don’t always have to be in stealth to use “stealth only” abilities. Blizz loves them, has loved them for a long long time.
Its too bad ferals are MIA. I miss playing one. But im not going through the frustration of never getting a kill and getting blowed up when caught in a stun.
Blizz, you have to do something. They are bad.

I like the idea of Blood Talons, but I hate using a healing spell in a dps rotation. It ruins the utility of the healing spell.

If not a healing spell, then it would be another ability. They just had to tie it to a button/ability click.

I think it’s fun to throw out a heal here or there. If nothing else, can always use the root

Honestly regardless of their damage numbers, feral is just a discount rogue. I’d like to see something relevant to a group that sets them apart and makes feral worth taking in some groups over a rogue.

I am able to out dps anyone near my ilvl but was told by many guilds that since feral offers no utility it doesn’t matter what dps output there is. Any chance to get our +5% crit buff back? Or maybe remove some of the other utilities other classes have.

Taking things away from other classes is a slippery slope, I rather we actually get something to make us desirable.

My wish list from a pvp standpoint

Better survivability
Bleeds actually doing a decent amount of dps
BT retooled, or removed.

Something like a passive effect on BT instead of the heal for every bleed you have on the target they take x percent more dps from said bleeds? Boring yes, but probably makes it way more efficient.

Bleeds are never ever gonna do good dmg anymore because the PW pandora’s box was opened.

Hey, maybe we will hear something at Blizzcon.
