Is there a healing meter that works?

I am just trying to do a comparison of a couple of healing spells to see which is more effective. But I cannot find a healing meter that works. I’ve downloaded Skada and Recount from Curse, both of which will show dps but not any healing. Detail! does show data, but it’s showing erroneously high numbers, like 140k a second. Am I doing something really stupid? Or is there a meter that will just show me basic healing numbers?

Recount does have some healing statistics - it has Healing Done, Overhealing Done, HoT Uptime, etc. Your Healing done will show you top heals and for how much, etc. If you click on the particular player you healed it will show you a pie chart of heals.

I dont know what other add ons would provide specific detailed info beyond that. Maybe do a bit of googling?

At the top of the recount window, there are a couple of options you can mouseover and one of them lets you swap to healing

Edit: actually let me check if i’m using recount or details i genuinely can’t remember since swapping

But those are definitely the ones used by most people

Somehow I’m not being clear. I’ve got the healing window up and Skada and Recount and when I heal, no numbers appear. If I switch to dps, and do damage, I do get data, but no data with Recount or Skada when displaying the Heals or HPS screens.

What are you healing at that time? Is it in groups, out in the world, what?

If its target dummies or players at full health, you wont get a reading. It needs to be when someone has actually taken damage. Test it on yourself, go somewhere and let a mob hit you and test it again after you have taken some damage.

how are you testing your healing, in fights?

yeah as others have said, you probably need to be in combat for it to get picked up

What spells are you trying to compare that you can’t do by mathing out the tooltip with the presented stats?

Details! is really where it’s at nowadays. I used to use Recount and Skada but they started having inconsistencies and little weird things about them.

Details is my favorite by far, easy to set up, lots of options, and it’s accurate.
