Is There A Good Argument for Leveling 1 to 110?

Just started a Death Knight (now lvl 59), I really like it and enjoyed the class area, but I can’t help but feel like I’m missing out on earlier content. Is it worth leveling 1-110? I would probably go arms warrior.

If you’re going to play a warrior, absolutely. I’ll always encourage more warriors because they’re <3.

The Cata revamped zones are pretty fun the first time through. I particularly like the plaguelands.

Go fury warrior instead.

I’d say no. If you like your DK stick with it. You can always go back to lower level zones and explore/do the quests.

Nah, DK is smart, fun and cool!

If you want to make a lower character, to experience that content, I’d suggest an alt that is very different from the DK (Hunter, Priest, etc.)

If you haven’t done it, then yeah, for sure. It’s much better now with the new scaling as you can get more absorbed in an area instead of being ushered out at 25% done.

If you have done it 40+ times, like I and many other have, it’s not quite as fun  What I do is park alts until they get 30 rest bubbles, then login and get to 0 rest bubbles, then logout and wait for 30 again. What I’m doing in those brief periods is mindless questing of content I already know well enough.

1-60 leveling is some of the best currently in the game. I really think they did an amazing job with the Cata revamp. I’d maybe wait to level an allied race which rewards you for leveling from scratch (well technically from level 20 but with scaling you can still experience all of it).

Do it with an Allied Race - not only is there a reward (heritage armor) for going the full climb, but you actually start at 20 so you still get a bit of a head start.

You actually enjoyed that place? It was good, but seemed to have taken a little bit too long I think.

And as for your question, yes and no, it is good to see it a few times, but once you have seen it, unless you go a different way each time, the only reason for levelling is to get used to your class before hitting current content.

But given the amount of areas you can go to it may be worth going a different way each time so you can see more of it, that is unless you have been here forever than everything is pointless outside new content.

Which means you don’t need all the heriloom armour to mount from the start and that helps at least a little bit.

Personally, the 1-60 content is still my favourite in the whole game. It’s even better now that zone levels are variable so you don’t feel compelled to leave a zone before all the quests are done.

I just started a new character on an RP server. Human Warrior. Already have my Human DK of the same name ready for when the warrior hits 55, is killed and rezzed by the Lich King.

To me its worth it to level with a friend, switch to DK @ 55 and have a whole RP background for my Character…

Leveling from scratch is a good idea, as follows:

  1. Some of the start zone/early quests are…wait for it…FUN!

  2. If its a new class for you then you get to learn the skills and rotations and the general ‘feel’. Makes for a better playtime in instances.

  3. If it doesn’t work out, it’ll be ''oh well, a few hours. (transfer gold etc to main).
    as opposed to…
many censored words 60 bucks down the drainmore words

Only one I have is that if you want to learn how to play a class you’ve never done then starting from 1 and progressing through the levels is a great way to learn what you’re doing.

Instead of being level 1 you will be level 110

To hell with leveling its extremely boring and gets old super fast, stick with the DK and you’ll be able to get to max level sooner.

I couldn’t disagree with you more, in my experience, the 1-60 content is boring, repetitive, phased and very slow. I avoid it at all costs, even the TBC starting zones are nicer than 1-60 by a long shot

Can’t stand the 1 - 60 grind personally, but if you enjoy leveling over doing content for current level then go level another character from 1 up. However, if that isn’t what drives you find a class and stick with it. My advice is play a class you enjoy and invest time in it regardless of where you start level-wise.

I love the 1-60 zones, hate the TBC zones, and especially the WOTLK zones. The 1-60 could use a storyline update for sure, it’s strange hearing about death wing and grommash he’ll scream, but they are very smooth going imo.

The WOTLK questing experience is the worst though, so many boring storyline quests and they went overboard with the phasing and vehicles.

With the recent changes to reduce the leveling grind in the sub 110 ranges, it shouldn’t be that difficult. And if you are willing to deal with some occasional ganking and play Alliance, you can make it even faster with that 30% XP bonus they are getting in warmode. Just be prepared to relocate to another questing area if you are getting ganked too much.

The overall story, especially Horde side, is confusing as Hades. Who’s your Warchief literally depends on what level you are.

Level 1 Troll? Thrall. I think Vol’jin is in the picture.
Level 80 Troll? Grommash
Level 90 Troll? Vol’jin

I’ve over simplified it, but suffice to say, Sylvanas, the current warchief is not who you are dealing with as you level.
