Do people genuinely still care about that? Thought most of us settled on “they both have their niches and that’s cool,” and that the hot new cesspool is complaining about Retail vs SoD or whatever.

The FF14 defenders were vocal, loud, and often for a time. Anytime that FF14 sees a population boost, or anytime that wow eats a publicity debacle… There are always those who crawl out to ridicule.
The most recent event was the wow HR debacle. That’s within the last 2 years. So yes, people do genuinely care about it, for one reason/motivation or another.

It’s less about the games being good or bad, and more about entertainment and riling people up. There are few if any consequences for trolling on the internet.
