Because its technically not a real cap as a hard barrier you can’t pass, but a drastic nerfed mmr coefficient which results in the same effect → artificially reduced mmr!
And since you are a fan of looking out for official announcements, don’t oversee this one:
Which is virtually proof that they are artificially screwing around with the MMR system! If you want to know what happens to MMR without them messing around with it, then just take a look at the BBG ladder and compare it with the shuffle ladder.
Blizzard doesn’t “screw around” with it, they artificially inflate MMR so people like yourself don’t have a menty-b over getting 2100 at the end of a season and being unable to break 1700 when the season starts. Blizzard needs to learn to tell people no.
If they were inflating the MMR in RSS, how is it possible that the bracket with the most participation out of all PvP brackets and an activity similar to BBG, but significantly higher than 3s, is so far behind in max ratings?
Any halfway functioning logic center in a human brain would immediately become suspicious here. If this is not the case with you, I would strongly recommend a CT scan, because your brain was obviously not fully developed or important parts of it were amputated without your knowledge.
MMR and CR won’t go up without enough people actually trying to push higher.
People will always push 3s because Gladiator. People were pushing shuffle reward (which were lowered this expansion) and accessibility. People actively do push Blitz for accessibility and novelty.
You’re literally just watching the death of an inferior game mode and are being inordinately upset because Blizzard won’t artificially prop you up so you can have the gimmes and subsequent dopamine hits that you’ve become accustomed (and addicted) to.
Those data were based on the 7 days activity tab from 2 days ago and as you can see, the activity of RSS was pretty much the same compared to BBG. Still do the top 100 players there have in average 600 rating more. So could you just stop with this NONSENSE?
When I look at 3s, yes. But RSS is still very healthy and alive, despite the fact the devs think they need to put MMR to chains so little wannebes like you stop crying.
They should really learn to say no to the 5 guys who are trying to destroy RSS and let the 300,000 players of shuffle in NA and EU enjoy their time.
That’s a really strange way of saying
BGB: 21.12 lobbies per character
RSS: approx 9 lobbies per character.
But also you’re kinda proving my point. Blitz is actually picking up steam as people get higher. Because people want to push Blitz for novelty reasons. In each bracket range as you described, Blitz players are playing more lobbies than Shuffle lobbies and, as you go higher, the difference is more pronounced. Shuffle just doesn’t have the retention. It is what it is. People no press Q, number no go up
Every lobby is like 6 games when its about rating but no, they are literally counted as lobbies: https://imgur.com/a/8Rs1FUV
Before I forget this ridiculous and embarrassing statement of you, lets see what people have to say with ratings you can’t even dream of in your wettest nights

Says everything I guess, especially since the list of top rated players asking to uncap MMR in shuffle but also 3s is kinda endless and those are only two examples.
Depends on who you talk too. For 3s and 2s I believe its the two solo q brackets that are taking activity from it. For Solo Shuffle people say its not capped and then you have people that say it is. When I watch twitch streams it seems to be a general consensus among the ones I watch that Shuffle is capped. There have been tweets on twitter about it like this one from absterge quoted word for word that he tweeted on Oct 15:
“solo shuffle is already a meme, but when pushing R1 (I currently Hpriest R1 at 2055) and I get players that don’t have the xp to be in the same lobby and they feed my games so I go 2-4 and then type “you have to be trolling me right?” after we lose it makes me ask why even q”
He then replied to his tweet with this.
“Please address/fix mmr in solo shuffle @WarcraftDevs it’s quite disgraceful to have the same MMR discussion for the last 2 years now”
I found this kind of funny because when I read the forums here its usually people complaining about Rank 1s and glads in low mmr games. I am still playing the game anyway and eventually they will just inflate mmr like they did before and then people will start playing again if they stopped and decided to afk.
Participation in RSS is more than enough to where ratings should be 400+ higher than they are. Something is definitely keeping MMR down in RSS that isn’t hitting other brackets.
That said, they will inject enough MMR for most people to reach the rewards they want easy enough. Blizzard implemented a system that promotes only actually playing the final few weeks of a season, might as well play it how they want.
No reason to paddle upstream when they gradually reverse the current.
Terrible system, but they don’t seem to have any desire to change it.
Now there are people here who understand his far better then I do… but is there a reason for the heavy throttling?
Is it just to desperately keep 3s somehow relevant or is it more a case of their desire a scarcity their old percentage based system won’t allow now that so many people are pvping?
But we don’t know what that exactly means. What are those “unwanted effects or trends”? Who do they harm? Who would suffer from them?
Anyways. They wanted to avoid a huge discrepancy between shuffle and 3s would be my guess. 3k in shuffle but 2200 in 3s would look weird they thought and it would kill 3s even further, because no achievement hunter would queue in the harder bracket.
The overkill was simply the MMR reset in Shuffle this expansion with the drastically nerfed mmr gain in its extreme (top rated players). It wasn’t great in DF, but you were at least able to do your Legend wins and stuff. But right now, even that is impossible because the system doesn’t really allow you to climb.
Not to interject this super unique and riveting argument about SS mmr, but imo, 2s is still always going to be the quickest and easiest way to hit 1800.
RMT wintrade crew cried to Blizzard about people getting elite rewards in solo shuffle so they nerfed mmr to gatekeep more rewards it’s actually the most pathetic thing on earth
For the same reason you want them to fix the bracket you prefer. There are obviously enough people who prefer to play with their friends and don’t want to play LFG. That is fine, we need to respect that.
But on the same page they need to respect the 300,000 shuffle players in NA and EU, who don’t want to be held back!
