Hi Team,
The X-45 Rocket that drops during the Love is in the air event. I’m not a huge mount collector but I remember reading posts saying how rare it was and there was even controversy conversations about it last year? So is the mount still rare? Did they increase the drop rate?
Edit: Alright, here’s what I’m really asking. I just got it. How much bragging rights do I have?

I thought spectral tiger was due to the tie in with the card game.
Am I thinking of another mount?
As far as “obtainable simply by playing” … it, and the Infinite Timereaver as certainly close.
The RAREST mount is likely to be a TCG mount. I would guess Magic Rooster. By my own observation, I’ve seen MANY MANY more Spectral Tigers than I’ve seen Roosters, but … that may just be that the Tigers look lovely, and the Rooster is made from about 6 pixels. It’s garbage. One of those mounts/pets/rare items that people ONLY use bc it’s rare. It’s otherwise something no one would ever touch. That’s not true of the Tiger. 
The Timereaver has a MUCH lower droprate, but bc we get TW events more often, and you can (effectively) farm it on alts, the overall stats for people who have it are probably higher.
The tigers were counterfieted for a while. My memory is probably off tho. The last time I actually saw a spectral tiger in-game people were still spelling out gold farming websites using corpses.
For me personally, it’s the #$%^ Headless Horseman because it’s eluded me personally for the 16 years I’ve been trying…and I have limited chance to get it only one season per year.

Wasn’t there a black Qiraji mount from the original opening of Ahn’Qiraj that only the gong ringers got? Am I making this up?
It was never the rarest mount in the game, that honor is currently held by the legacy faction mounts.
To put a current number on it, it sits at 7% ownership atm according to data for azeroth, putting it somewhere in the same ballpark of rarity as the Darkmoon Dirigible.
Correct, 1 per server. This still has a higher amount of active players with it than 3 glad mounts (seasons 12, 13, and legion season 3), which in turn are more common than 12 of the original 14 epic mounts that were removed in patch 1.4.
Do you know if they account for all accounts, or only active accounts?
It never was the rarest mount in the game, lol.
That would be the fluorescent green mechano-strider, which only has one owner. (On Retail, it was made a low mount drop in SoD.)
It was given to a guy by accident by a GM- only one person had that mount.
Not even gladiator mounts have that honor.
And then they tried to sell their account, so the mount is gone now, lmao.
So now, the mount is truly extinct.

It ain’t that rare, lol. Not at all.
All vicious PvP mounts, are rarer. Less than 5% of people have those.
Spectral Tigers and ZG tiger are 1% and 2% respectively.
considering there are glad mounts that have lower ownership than the literal 1 per server mount I think it only tracks active profiles.
I forgot about that one. This one HAS to be THE rarest.

Mottled drake is probably my rarest
There are a few rarer mounts like the Black Protodrake and other TCG mounts.
X-45 is 7% of the playerbase.
Black Proto-drake is <1%
Whatever the mythic raiding tryhard current mount is will likely be the “rarest” mount just by virtue of needing to be a mythic raiding tryhard in a group capable of getting there and waiting your turn to get it (or paying an obscene amount).
Plus they buffed the love rocket drop rate. I know a few people who got it this year. Should’ve been added as a purchase with love tokens years ago imo and I say that as someone who had it in WoD.
If it was somehow locked to Mythic raiders… probably.
But because sooooooo many people just buy carries, I doubt this is the case.
Loads of people paid for that fire owl when it was current. I saw carries being sold regularly back then.
So yeah, I wouldn’t even judge it as being that rare.
3% of people have it- about the same as the DF PvP mounts like the PvP fire snail.
Hell, less people have the current season PvP skyflayer mount (~1%), than that owl lol.
Gotta be honest, I don’t even consider PvP.
PvP is less than an afterthought in this game. By both the players and the devs.
