Is the new player experience meant to drive people away?

Me and some friends decided to have a crack at reliving the old WOW experience we played though years ago and started playing WOW Classic, with 3 of us having to create a US account to join one player : 4 of us were happily working through the first couple of areas until we realised we couldn’t give items to each other (bags / mage water / cash), mail each other, use the AH etc etc.

I can’t believe this is the first 30 day experience that Blizzard want us to have, it’s causing a lot of frustration and we’re questioning whether to continue…especially as this has cost all of us money which makes us legitimate, paying, rule abiding players.

I understand that one excuse is that this is to combat bots and gold sellers, why the hell is this our problem? Seems like a double standard when there are plenty of services which are in the game you need to pay money for that really a subscription should cover.

Angry and disappointed with what this game is now.

damn, didn’t realize these restrictions for new accounts are on classic these days, hopefully it goes away soon, back during Cata/mop i believe it lasted for a few days til they got purchase confirmation, unsure if it’s still that way or a set time now

This is one of those half baked ideas that blizzard pushed through without much explanation.

It is lame for new players

and returning players who haven’t played in about 18 years (like me)

The website said it only affects SOD realms, which clearly isn’t the case. I couldn’t agree more this will butcher the initial classic experience

This sounds horrible. Why?

honestly, i hope all these dumb changes do drive players away :expressionless: i don’t care anymore

I can’t buy anything on the AH, I can’t trade with friends, I can’t even share items between my own alts. Blizzard, I think you’ve broken a core mechanic of the game.

It is absurd, it would make sense if the first 30 days were free but we are paying the same price.

Something that was pointed out to me today that I didn’t know that might help you is that you can actually sell items in the AH.

I renewed last weak and was extremely disappointed when I found out I would be limited for fresh. Lvling a warrior I won’t even be able to buy grind stones without leveling blacksmith.

yeah kinda stupid tbh , 1 week i can understand , 2 days - 3 days would be better , but 30 days is insane

30 days is absurd. I remember it way back when it used to be a few days I think, which was annoying but understandable.

What’s the point of an MMO you can’t interact with?
