Its just your perception, reality is its trending and has been. The game isn’t coming out for a few months so its calm before the storm, so pretty much par for the course.
Good! You should be, its going to be great! I am too!
As far as YouTube videos/Twitch Streams, don’t read to much into those metrics…I’m not saying they don’t matter but they are far from the end all be all. The game has always gathered an audience, lots of people love the War-Craft universe and nothing will ever change that(I remember playing the first Warcraft RTS when I was just a kid, made a huge impression on me).
IMO, don’t worry about others or “hype”, enjoy the game and have fun with it! Something being popular or not should have no barring on your own fun or on what you decide on playing.
Agree. CRZ is cross realm zones which allows multiple realms to share the same zone so it looks more populated. Sharding is the same as layering with the only difference being the size of the shard. Layering affects a continent where as sharding typically affects zones.
By and large the people who claim to “prefer” 1.12 AV either are trolling, never played anything earlier than 1.12, never played vanilla, or do not like ANY version of AV and just want the version that they need spend the least time in.
Judging by your posting, I think you exist squarely in the first and last of those groups.
Heck, given your vanilla rank you may very well fall into all of those categories.
Just imagine what hype that would have been generated had they surprised everyone with AV being the early full-content version. Think about the hype explosion that would have created. Think about all the people that have written the modern blizzard staff off, being yanked right back into the fold.
What an abysmally wasted opportunity after 15 years.
The beta exposing 1.12 AV as the tragedy many expected it to be has extinguished the flame of hype somewhat for sure. Although it is a let down, I think those inclined to try he game still will, myself included.
No. You seriously have it backwards. Layering = 1 server. Sharding 10 servers running around the same area together. How can you seriously think these are the same thing? Sharding is how CRZ works.
Personally i’m still hyped! Although the whole layering situation does dampen it strongly. I really would like to just be purely excited for the game i was expecting, but it’s not the same game like this so i simply can’t unfortunately.
Then there’s the uncertainty of what’s actually gonna happen. Am i gonna have to wait alongside others until the game is releasing it’s full version? If so, for how long? When it is finally in it’s full version, can i trust them to let the game remain unchanged from that point on, making it worth to play and invest alot of my time into?
For all i know there’s still the possibility for things to change, and depending on how and what changes, my hype train could stop stepping on the brakes and go at full speed again, or stop entirely.
I’m hopeful though that the team will do what they feel is best. I guess i’ll have to see what that looks like, and go from there
Cross realm bgs, no honor grind till phase 2, watching layering actually in action on the beta, and finally av killed all my hype. Mostly layering - once I started to see on twitch streams people not interacting due to different layers or multiple gurubashi trinkets go out I was like “okay this isn’t wow”.
Layering needed to be avoided - it just isn’t as fun of a game with layering. I understand it solves “problems” but the point of a game is not to solve problems it is to make people want to play it.
