find a new hobby and set aside at least an hour a day to focus solely on it. I did that with painting because I always wanted to improve but it was a challenge to tear myself away from video games after a long day. it’s like how some people are with TV. I wouldn’t say it’s an addiction more that it’s just easy entertainment and habits take effort to form.
If you told me when I picked up WoW when I was 15 in 2005 that I would still be playing it when I was 32 in 2022. I would have laughed at you.
Help me.
Have you tried seeking out an addiction counselor?
my concert is about…
for how long will i keep playing it ?
sure it’s fun game but i think it does steal my time.
Finding a new hobby is a good idea, and if the game is getting in the way of your life therapy is a choice.
I get really into a few things at a time and always have. I decided to take a break from gaming for a while I ended up doing other things like shopping for deals (aka spending money that could have gone to the mortgage or retirement) and watching a lot of things on Youtube. It just ultimately wasn’t worth it, as long as I have my family and job and make sure to take care of those things it doesn’t matter what I spend extra time doing. However, if you are honestly wanting to stop playing the game looking into other things that seem exciting making a change might be worth it for you.
I have told myself after Wrath Classic I’ll stop. I didn’t care for Cata all that much and ended up taking my first real break from wow then. Didn’t play the last year of Cata but came back for Mist.
Haven’t been a fan of the new expansions either. Played Legion, BFA, and Shadowlands for about a month before I quit them. I’m been fully into Classic since launch.
So right now plan is to quit after Wrath Classic, but we shall see.
But one issue with quitting wow now is that I work the night shift from home. And my job is a lot of sitting around waiting for the phone to ring or an email to come through. So in that down time wow is the perfect game to play. Get on my main and farm a little, or casually lvl an alt. I’m even working right now and just browsing the forums inbetween calls.
So If I do end up quitting, would need to find someone to do while I work or I would be just staring at my computer screen.
indeed, i’ll try to do that
sounds like a good plan.
In before you return later for Wow On Mobile
I feel like the forums are more addictive.
