I’ve lost track on how many runs I did with all my alts in Dragon Soul but I finally got the last mount needed to get the emerald drake.
The Blazing Drake Dropped on Deathwing. I thought for sure it was not going to because Experiment 12-B dropped on Ultraxion.
Man this was a hard mount to get. Would be nice if Blizz did something like this for the Cloud Serpent mounts. They have enough of them that it could be done.

While the idea of a Cloud Serpent variation is nifty, I’d say please no, lol.
Sha? Nalak? Those are rough. Having a mount meta achievement for collecting mounts with a 1% drop rate is much, much different than having a meta consisting of 1/2,000(or whatever Nalak’s is) and 1/20,000(or whatever Sha’s is).
As for the Emerald Drake, no clue. I’d imagine it’s pretty rare due to how many mounts are associated with it. I know personally, I just need Blazing to finish it but I absolutely loathe Dragon Soul so I admittedly don’t run it as much as I should.
Im still chasing the green dragon, kind of gave up at this point.
Grats! I got my Onyxian just the other week after ages. Perhaps I should have a go for experiment 12-B. I think that is the last one I need. Pretty much just need Ony and one of the Dragon Soul ones for like the past 6 years but never got around to farm them lol.
Also according to Wowhead 11% of accounts have unlocked the achievement so it’s not really super rare, but still not common. I’d imagine not too many people use it so it’s probably actually rarer to see than it actually is.
ive had it for a few years. i dont know how rare it is, but i never use it. looks way too outdated. kind of disappointing. time they remake the original drake models imo.
Should just make some new ones, similar to how they kinda added a new “red” one in the form of balzing drake.
this is why i dont have it. its ugly and i will never use it so why go to all the effort of getting it? you’d think it’d be great looking for all you gotta do but nah…
I’d guess its probably rarer than that statistic suggests, but it depends on how wowhead collects data. If it scans armory profiles, a lot of collectors have armies of alts that would artificially inflate that number. If it’s based off of people that use wowheads data collection tools, I’d bet that the people who are going to be most dedicated to sending drop rate data to the website are also collectors, also artificially inflating that number.
Anyways, point is it’s probably way less than 11%.
I recently completed the achieve too. My last was the blue drake. Thankfully that one is super easy to farm. But it took a while nonetheless for that last drake. Ironically the blue drake came up on my bmah a little while ago but I got outbid. Now I’m glad I got outbid

I still don’t have the Blazing Drake. Funny thing is that it used to drop all the time back when Dragon Soul was current content, and I think everyone in my raid group got it except me, due to poor rolls.
If they added an “Awake the Wind Serpent” achievement and it includes Nalak and Sha, that mount better poop gold or something.
Anyways, I would love to see more “Awake” type achievements but I would rather they didn’t include the 5 world boss mounts.

As a mount collector, I say no, but to others they might consider it rare. Then again I have probably close to 90% of the mounts in this game…
