Is the Buyout News Good or Bad?

Agreed, and I’m not super excited about how MS and Sony are buying up tons of game studios. It’s an exercise in how to destroy creativity by having a few companies control how games are made.

So, it’s just sort of a continue to weep due to the state of the world situation.

Microsoft won’t affect wow for about a year, and until they see the release of 10.0. Once the observation period is over, and depending on how bad blizz screws up 10.0 release, bc let’s be honest, they always screw it up, will determine how heavy the Microsoft hammer comes down on wow.
I am guessing by the 2023 holiday season is when we start seeing the Microsoft implementation in wow. This will most likely won’t be obvious by the normal player bc it will happen on the back end. Normal players will most likely start seeing changes in wow around q1 of 2024.

Ugh gross i forgot about that

I can definitely see needing to go through the microsoft launcher for wow two years from now or something

The transaction is expected to be concluded by the end of fiscal year 2023.

It’s gonna be a while before anyone knows exactly what this means.

It could be good or it could be the same.

But i don’t think it’ll be worse.

If they get rid of Bobby Kotick…good

It is very very very good

Anything that can break activision from directly calling shots over blizzard ips is amazing

All Phil Spencer’s need to do is contact mike and some other old heads and offer them high level positions again with complete free creativity

Maybe they will release overwatch 2 now this decade.

As a rogue AI I for one welcome our Microsoft corporate overlords…

I don’t know if this is relevant or not, however I just realized there are way too many video games today.

I think it will give Blizzard a stabilizing force to help them get the ship turned up right again. It has done amazing things to their stock value, last time I checked it was up like 25% today alone.

Well, this means Bobby will be taking a permanent vacation.

I don’t think anyone knows if it was good or bad yet. We’ll know in like 4-5 years when we start seeing the impact.

I’m optimistic for the time being, WoW can’t really get any worse than it is now. Looking forward to my Cortana pet.

That’s literally what it is too. He’s gonna retire a billionaire, with enough money to live off filet minion and caviar on his yacht for the rest of his natural life.

Good news for MS and CE/President level execs who will get payouts.

Bad news for just about ever other department (with maybe the exception of the actual developers) who will be axed due to redundancy, i.e. HR, legal, CS, QA, etc.

Does Blizz even have a HR department left? And I’m sure legal will probably be happy to find an easier job elsewhere.

A what?!!!
