I find neither the Horde nor the alliance is really the “good:” or “bad” guys, but I will say that the alliance tends to lean more to the lighter side of gray, as in they will do what they feel is needed for the greater good. Horde on the other hand is the more pragmatic faction, they might try to follow morals at times but their main concern is survival or doing what has to be done to ensure they can return to the fight.
If you really have to think in terms of good/bad guys, think of a version of this quote from Wreck-it Ralph “I am bad guy but that does not mean you are bad guy”.

The alliance is full of power hungry kings who care more about growing/maintaining their kingdoms than creating justice and equality for all races throughout the lands. Did the night elves even offer to share their lumber for the growing orc population?
The horde is full of individuals who went against their own races status quo of being power hungry war mongers, the ones who imitate such have quickly been dismantled.

There was supposed to be a talk between the Night Elves and Runetotem about such a deal, Twilight’s hammer killed the Night Elves and were able to pin it on the Horde orcs to the extent even Runetotem thought they were behind the attack.
