Is "tank" the most annoying phrase in wow?

Every time somebody says “tank” I know I’m about to get insulted or blamed in some way.

Yesterday was just one of those M+ days… I got invited and flew to a flight path that wasn’t the closest to the dungeon entrance while they are all sitting inside… “tank” “where are u going?” “we could have already started”. That should have been my sign to leave… dps pulled an extra group… “tank” “why you pull that?”. People left after dying on first boss.

Another group we were way behind timer after a bunch of wipes in Priory so I pulled the last 4 guys straight into the boss fight hoping that we could get it down in 2 minutes. “Tank”… “wtf”. Makes me want to hearth out of the run sometimes.

The one I hear all the time is some variation of “Stop standing in the fire! Why are you even over there? You can’t even Howling Blast them from that range!” from healers.

It’s always ‘Tank where are you going?’ ‘Tank stop cleaving the party’ ‘Tank get aggro’ but never ‘How’s the tank?’.

90% of keystone complaints are from dps whining that the tank/healer aren’t doing good enough of a job carrying them (for free).

Idk but “heals!?” after someone stood in a oneshot or something is certainly up there though.

“Tank” is a word not a phrase.
Not annoying at all in fact I use it many times to tell the person playing that role what i think.
good or bad.

In my experience players usually put the role title at the end of their tirades

“OMG!! What the ever living fudge, Tank!!??”

Kind of funny how healing super low keys can be considerably more painful than mid keys because people just take infinite avoidable damage and expect you to fix it.

Then the 1 shots roll out and it’s entirely up to the dps for not walling/moving.

Look, if they didn’t want to hard carry a trash DK for no good reason, they shouldn’t have invited me in the first place.

people who are at the dungeon but refuse to summon others is my biggest red flag for this dgs gonna be a clownfest and my goldfish suddenly started drowning and i need to drop group.

2nd biggest one is people demanding meta classes for +2s back before the rework to keys.

If it makes you feel any better, I saw a dps literally walk off the edge of the boss arena against the final boss in priory

Anytime I see someone referred to by their class or role, I just assume it’s going to be bad. It isn’t always, but lazy shortcut names still come off as disrespectful especially when you’re used to running with friends and using some variant of their character name.

No, just like being called “healer” is not super annoying. People are calling you by your role, just like damage dealers are DPS.

The most annoying phrase in wow? Probably something like “I think I’m DC’ing…” right as you are on target to time a key or kill a boss and it totally bricks whatever you are doing.

Clearly someone has never been hit with “brah” :joy:

and then those same people run to the Forums to complain about a “Tank/Healer Shortage” and demand that Blizzard do something to incentivize/force more people to PUG as a Tank/healer.

People have and will always be the problem. Good Guilds with Good, Chill People don’t have problems finding Tanks and Healers. A lot of Tanks and Healers just don’t want to deal with toxic PUGs, and thus only Tank/Heal for their Guilds and Friend lists.

“?” Is right up there, too.

It gets even better when “???”.

Whenever I see that, I always retort “would you like your mistakes in alphabetical or chronological order?”

I’m not a nice person.

I thought it was pretty annoying when people were trying to call dungeons “dung”. I’m like, that means something else, dude. :poop:

Oh believe me… I’m the same. I won’t start it… but by arthas… I will read off their meters, poor positioning, etc. to them lol.

I’m OK with people being there and learning and growing. That’s what the game is about. But there’s always a bigger fish.
