I am looking for where to quest next. Is stranglethorn the best place to go for quests at 30. What i mean by this is are there a lot of quests there that I can grab all at once or is it like ashenvale where you get a few and then get 1 leading to 1 more leading to 1 more.
I understand there will be chains that require turn in but ashenvale was painful and I would like to find a good place to go.
Darkshire had a lot to grab at once snd wetlands too
I personally went to Desolace just because it seems literally everyone goes to STV as soon as they hit 30 and there was a lot of competition. I only saw a few people in Desolace.

Plenty of quests, and plenty of ganks. As a Rogue you should be pretty much okay, but you’ll be having to slow walk in stealth more than in other zones.
Also consider your spec needs, if you’re Combat, then you should head to Desolace when you’re able to complete your quest for a Thrash Blade.
Was the gold drop rate with greys and green good in desolace?
if you’re on a pvp it’s probably the worst zone because it is very common for quest zones to be camped by the other faction. even on PvE servers its a pretty crowded zone
No you’re supposed to start stv at 32-33
You have to bounce spots often so if I remember correctly it’s a mixture of Arathi/hillsbrand/wetlands/duskwood… there’s many options
Then when you hit 31 you go to shimmering flats most of the quests there will get you very close to ding then you make your way to stv
Desolace is a level 34-35 area so I don’t know why on earth you’d go there at 30 it’s like people showing up to Westfall at 10 you can do it but it doesn’t make any sense

It wasnt better in terms of better drop chance, but it was better in the sense that I didnt have to fight with other players, sometimes literally, over spawns.

STV you can do the first nessingway quests, young tigers and panthers. Everything else is orange or red at 30.
I’d go knock out any green/yellow you have in the wetlands, then go to Ashenvale if you skipped there. I’m assuming you did all or most of duskwood. You can move up to south shore in hillsbrad and knock out several quests there. You could also hit up thousand needle. There should be 5-6 yellow quests there. If you go to thousand needles, you can pick up the ratchet and southern barrens quests too.

Thanks everyone. im like 3 bars from 30 and thought i was supposed to move on. I still have some quests in wetlands to do and a couple of stragglers in duskwood that are too high level still.
I suspect I have fallen into the stealth trap by moving past enemies in stealth and being far behind xp. I dont have enough remaining in wetlands, ashenvale and duskwood to bring me to 31 i don’t think. i guess i will run a dungeon or just farm for a bit.
Nice. i was thinking where to go next, after I complete the long warrior quest to get the fire hardened armor set. Probably I’ll end this at level 32
At 30, finish up any green/yellow quests in wetlands/Redridge, then move on to either desolace or STV. Hop around a lot, don’t force yourself to do orange quests when there’s a fresh new zone just 15 minutes of travel away.
Oh and don’t forget the shimmering flats once you’re 33-34! Lots of quests and lots of killing wildlife. That’s an easy level right there for an hour or two of killing everything on sight without much thought.
Always was my favorite zone. It can be chaotic, but that’s part of the fun. If you like adventure and atmosphere, definitely go STV.

If you can wait until 35 to do the northern STV quests you’ll have a MUCH better experience. At 30 you’ll hit walls pretty quick and be the easiest target on the field.
Also waiting until 40-42 for the southern quests is my rule of thumb. You’ll still have some dark red quests at 40, but it’s an amazing hub and should get you a few levels pretty quick.

Oh, STV is most certainly the best level 30-40 zone, right up until it isn’t. A few hours of the trees speaking Gutterspeak and packs of mobs attacking you out of nowhere can change a person. Especially if you have bad luck with quest item drop rates, euuuugh.
STV has some entry level 30s quests on Ally but youll also have to split with Hillsbrad/Alterac, desolace, and 1k Needles. Desolace has more mid 30s quests. 1k needs has early ones at the raceway. After the entry level kill quests the level increases sharply in STV.
About to ding 44 and haven’t done a single quest in STV… being on a PvP server it can be a bit of a hassle so I chose to quest elsewhere.

Absolute bloodbath. That being said, if you are on a PVE server, its a great spot. So many quests and if you are a skinner its leather heaven.

Try to be jumping between all the zones you can, you’ll get full of orange and red quests and unless you get a steady group or grind a lot you’ll get stuck
