Seems it kind of fell off the face of the Earth. The realm consolidation might be the only thing that seems promising. Been on and off, took 2+ hours on a Friday night to get a group together so I kind of gave up until server merge

I think a few were playing the relaunch of the New World Open beta last weekend a lot of ESO, WOW players and console players were in it. Also you have about 2 weeks before the next big MMO launches which is Thrones and Liberty, followed by New World’s official relaunch in middle of October.
And then maybe SOD’s final nail will probably be Path of Exile 2 which release’s in November.
Add those games along with the refusal of the Development team to listen to their community and I think SOD is headed for a quick demise now IMO of course. Consolidating realms is never a good sign for the overall population of a game.

My brother in Christ, New World has peaked at around 6k players max in the last 6 months, I highly doubt that it pulled anyone away from WoW in any form.

I was one of those people! New World on PS5 is really fun. SoD is starting to feel more and more like a long term beta, might just jump into New World in October until Classic+ launches.
It’s still a thing if you can stomach it for what it is I guess lol
Having the worst version of WoW pvp I’ve ever experienced, even including custom private servers, is why I personally can’t play it anymore.
Like it’s actually crazy how amateur devs working on private servers can produce better gameplay than Blizzard devs but here we are.

No, they literally just killed the game by forcing everyone to merge onto Crusader Strike and half of the guilds that still play can’t raid because they royally screwed up and nobody can transfer. Most players weren’t able to keep their character name that they’ve had since launch. The whole thing is a debacle and they’re saying nothing to the community. The game is about to lose about 25% of its player base with new and interesting games coming out like POE 2, Deadlock, Diablo 4, Throne & Liberty, New World Fresh Servers…the new Dragon Age…the list goes on.
I was a huge fan of SoD until they forced these character transfers and ruined the game. They haven’t even done a teaser for phase 5 which supposedly releases in a week.

Honestly, I think BWL/ZG phase will be the make or break for SoD crashing even faster and harder. I really hope we do get some new dungeons that were datamined in phase 5 and some interesting things to do outside of raids, and when AQ40 comes out, I think it would be a good time if they could introduce a new raid and/or pvp bg or something, because AQ20/AQ40 aren’t for everyone, it can suuuuuuck.

Yep end SoD early and give us fresh classic plus with a dedicated pvp dev and the current class/combat team replaced

CS population is crazy after the merger. I was on last night and yeah multiple layers, but I’m assuming that is because of the merger
