I am actually super mad because this change really makes me want to try SoD now, but I committed to anniversary realms at this point. I ignored SoD specifically because getting runes seemed like a big chore.

the game is dying fast, impossible to find a group solo on the main merged realm and if you do form a group its full of manchilds. dying garbage game, smoke that cope.

Nice try phresh andy nice try. I recently decided to roll on wild growth because I got tired of ganking on crusade strike. Just wanted to chill a bit. 2 am server time and durotar and barren chat still active and so many players all around. Only one coping here is you. Love it when people activate their out of commision alts just to troll on SOD. Also for someone who uninstalled wow in October you clearly very active on forums

Had a 4am drunky SM group last night lmao.
EDIT: Im playing ally side, but I hear horde side is blowing up again as well.

SoD is the most fun that Iâve ever had in wow. It doesnât feel dead to me at all. I never got to experience endgame during Vanilla/Classic and now Iâve gotten full tier from each raid. Everyone said AQ was so bad that I went in expecting the worst, it wasnât that bad; I can see why people dislike it though. I canât wait for Nax and beyond. Iâm committed to SoD until itâs officially over; I know it wonât last forever but for now it feels very much alive and enjoyable. As with anything, your mileage may vary.

Yes. People did. Check further than a single youtube video. The datamine for it literally has it listed as a raid (likely in the same post youâre even referencing the instance image from) with Karazhan listed as the dungeon.
Thatâs not classic +. Thatâs just two instanced areas.
Where is the emerald dream?
where is the vanilla outland?
Where is the vanilla dragon isles?
Where is vanilla broken isles?
Where is grim batol/twilight highlands?
Where is gilneas?
Where is undermine?
Where is Uldum?
Where is Hyjal?
Where is a vanilla version of nearly EVERYTHING released in the last 20 years that was confirmed to have existed in Vanilla either through the alpha, beta, or early patches of wow?
Classic + needs to have more than DFC, KC (as a dungeon not even a raid) and Tyrâs Hand to be called Classic +

Who asked? It was originally in vanilla, along with everything else I mentioned. Hell itâs even in the reveal for Undermine(d).
Again, what I mentioned is classic +, the literal continuation of classic content.
I shouldnât have to play a private server, just like I shouldnt have had to play a private server for old expansions. Especially when these servers are a breach of tos and the whole point of playing this game is to play it WITH people. There is zero reason for me to make a server while not at Blizzard to just play by myself.
Blizzard agreed for classic, they should now agree for classic +. I have thought about playing Turtle WoW, however, I wonât play on the inferior vanilla client. Use the classic client and, unless blizzard doesnt add anything else after SE and KC, Iâll gladly play it in addition to Hardcore and retail.

What a boomer take. The fact you are commenting on the character you are is because of player choice. Itâs really ironic telling someone to go play on an illegal private server on an open forum and that it would never/should never happen on a blizzard controlled serverâŚwhile posting on a character whose existence literally Depends on that exact scenario coming to pass.
You donât want to make use of/take advantage of player choice and arguably, player demand? Delete your classic players and only play retail and Turtle WoW. But you wonât do that.
I mean all 6 of my max characters and like 25k hours of work got deleted when Cata classic came out and I pretty much exclusively play SoD, retail, and turtle.

For me it surely is as I have an older laptop (~5 years) and canât play retail atm, SoD has been fun. I never got to play classic as I joined in TBC and nobody played old content, especially once WotLK came out, I am finally able to catch up on what the classic WoW was, but better. First time I made alts that I bothered to level to at least lvl 30 instead of lvl 5-10. Even made a Tauren shammy to see what playing as Horde feels like. SoD is great and it could be better if they decided to make it better.

It progressed. Just like every classic character did before cata, before wrath, and before tbc and every retail character did for 20 years.
You want your endgame to stay the same? Play era. You want it to get incrementally better? Hope for classic plus, which sod isnt. As for the character your choosing to post on? It progressed. Your kills are still there (albeit 15 years late on actually being relevant) your arena/rbg is still there (provided you pvp) and your gear is still there. It just isnt the best anymore. There is a difference.
Also, you havent even played enough to even begin to complain if 25,0000 is realistic. Thats not even 3 years. Come back when youve played through at least 10 or more years worth of expansions immediately invalidating your gear. Thats what you signed up for when you played this game past vanillla.

It progressed to retail. I already play retail so all my Classic, TBC, and Wrath characters effectively were deleted the moment it progressed. I havenât even logged into this character since cata released to switch to gobbo.
SoD by any basic English definition is Classic+ just like Turtle WoW. You just post entitled gibberish.

See, itâs not though. Slightly retuning the dungeons no one ever wanted to do, and using a private server scroll system for retail runes, wasnât classic +. It was literally just âclassic but retail abilitiesâ
The unfinished content being finished, and the cut content (however much that is) being put into the game, thereby continuing the story, is what adds the plus to classic. Thatâs the whole point, CONTINUING the story, not doing the same thing we have done 5 times before, but with ice lance this time (just to use frost mage as an example)

You can still play the character. You can still progress with it. You are choosing not to. There is a difference.
No. It doesnt. Because classic hasnt been around for 2 years. This is 2024, not 2021. Meaning you either barely play, or you did NOT start in 2019 because classic wrath and classic cataclysm didnt launch in 2019.
As for retail characters, press X to doubt.
Turtle WoW is a better version of Classic plus, SoD is more aligned with Ascension.
SoD is fine doing what it does. What really matters is post naxx.
Itâs hard to top Mysteries of Azeroth and 2.0 expac is right around the corner (not TBC) theyâre porting the 1.12 client to unreal engine 5.
You canât really expect corporate employees to be allowed to turn a Classic server into an alternate timeline like MoA did.
They touched a little bit throwing Xalatath into SoD, but you canât compare that to the Durotar Labor Union.
Classic + exists itâs just whether or not you play it.

I stopped in p5. If they turn around and reveal they were making actual classic plus content for after SoD is done, then Iâd come back, but I gave it till 60 for them to do something that wasnât just SoM all over again, and all they did for 3 40 raids and 2 20 raids was âHere have this weird cooky loot system that is the same, but also different because its themed, to each raid to make it feel differentâ
The Molten Core was a pretty disrespectful slap in the face too, with the context how much they hyped up a secret boss just for it to be an oversized meteor that does a flame strike.
Yes. When they say thatâs what they are going to do, I can. When they say unfinished and unreleased content would be put in, I can.
Even if you give them the benefit of the doubt with how they said it:
Waiting until P5 to just make an instanced version of the ashenvale demon area and calling it Demon Fall Canyon is lazy. Do it in p1 when we are actually in Ashenvale, and do something else later. Waiting until the last phase just to finally put something in the game thats âoriginalâ with karazhan crypts (because lets be real, tyrâs hand being instanced isnât really original just like DFC wasnât) is not doing what they said they would do.
Put content in ALL phases, not just the very end of the season.
