Is silver ore the most rare thing in TBC?

I just spent over an hour running around mountains in hillsbrad, alterac mountains, and arathi highlands. I found 1 silver node.

Wowhead shows 131 nodes for arathi. I didn’t find any in arathi. Lots of iron though, but I can’t mine iron yet. I need to mine silver to level up mining.

What gives?

Is there any place else I can go?

It’s my perception that tin ore nodes sometimes re-spawn as silver. It is also my perception that you can still get skill from mining tin but not as frequently. So I would suggest mining tin and hope for a silver re-spawn.

sounds like you need to mine tin till you can mine iron, looking for any of the “rare” veins, (Silver, Gold, Truesilver) is a waste of time as they share spawns.

The cave in wetlands with the spiders.

There is some quest ore in there (that you don’t need the quest for) that you can mine. They respawn fast. There is also regular tin in there.

You can get to iron in an hour easy.

Also, one key to skilling up mining is to buy ore and smelt it for easy skill points.

When you get 125 for Iron, buy 20 or 40 ore and turn them into bars first, and then go out and mine. It’ll save you a ton of time. This goes for all of them: gold, mithril, truesilver, etc.
