Is Shen-zin Su a Loa?

I mean we all know Elune is a Loa :smirk: but is Shen-zin Su a Loa? I mean he kinda fits the bill for one.

Edit: Shen-zin Su is the Pandaren starting area, a gigantic turtle. Much bigger than that weakling Torga.

Actually no, she is a being of light and shadow reminiscent of a Naaru. Even Valen comments on this.

The Turtle Island, might be, it’s never said what he is precisely, but odds are he is a Demi-God like a Loa.

p.s. Top theories on Elune:

Titan of the Moon, A powerful Naaru, An Old God who is both light and shadow and not evil. The power level difference between Elune and a Loa makes it clear she is not a Loa or any type of Demi-God. She is much too powerful for that.

I would think he probably fits more as wild god, or like one of the August Celestials. He is a turtle afterall. The Loa are powerful spirits that often choose to appear as an animal. For example, Rezan looks like a T Rex, but Bwonsomdi looks like an undead Troll.

Gods don’t stop the affairs of Mortals, unless they effect the god directly. That is a rule in all fantasy settings. Elune gives power when asked, Elune blesses and protects, Elune Raises the Dead back to life, Elune Purifies Demonic taints, Elune accepts worship from all.

She is Considered to be the White Lady (large white Moon), the Tauren call her Mu’sha the Earth Mother. Both Night Elves and Tauren worship Elune. Both the Tauren and Night Elves gain power from her.

Anything can be a loa if the trolls worship it. That’s just their own religion is all.

But I know what you mean and no Shen-zin Su isn’t a Wild God as far as we know. He’s actually only just over 800 years old, unlike the previous Wild Gods who date back to the reordering of Azeroth.

To be a Wild God he needs to be immortal and have an inherent connection to the Emerald Dream. Shen-zin Su is totally intelligent, but hasn’t shown either of those traits.

Trolls arent the only ones that worship Loa. There are a few references to the Tortollan worshipping Loa.

In regards to Elune, she’s the only “power” that has never been defined in a category, though she’s also the only one ever referred to as a Goddess. All the others are referred to by specific terms such as Wild God.

Not true, Loa are worshiped by several races, Vulpera, Sethrak, and Tortollans to name a few.

Some Trolls don’t worship Loa, specifically the Blood Trolls didn’t worship a Loa G’huun is not one, although he is refereed to as one several times, he technically is a minor Old God created by the Titans as a research subject in how to fight against the Old Gods. However in several places in game and in other material he is referred to as a Loa. Ghuun is from a different pantheon.

Elune is allied with the Titans, and might be one, she is not a Loa, however there are lots of Troll groups who worship her.
