Is shaman worth switching to?

I have recently leveled up all of the classes in shadowlands pre patch (only had 3 remaining, rest were already at 40-50). I do have to say that this is my first time playing shaman and the all 3 specs seem like alot of fun, and I think elemental has one of the most fun loops / styles (imo). I just love the way everything looks and feels.

However, after being a warrior main for the last 4 years I wanted to switch, but I hear “Lol Shaman” quite a bit. Are they in a good spot? Is it worth ditching DK/War to join the shaman train?

Depends on your goals but I really enjoy Enhance and elemental. Ele feels good blowing enemies up and looks pretty when overloading chain lightning. Enhance I just have always had a love for.
The thing is I come from arms warrior and the effort you need to put out damage and survive with a shaman is far greater. Ignoring pain and keeping mortal strikes up till you execute things down is much more consistent and reliable than building MSW stacks to pop a lightning and frost shock.

Here’s what I do love with enhance tho.

  1. Ghost wolf to move around. It’s just nice and with water walking is really really nice.

  2. You get to feel like you can be creative with your offense. It’s not optimal but sometimes you can shoot lightning and fire, sometimes you can smash away with your dual wield. And I assume it’s going to feel great at 60 when our storm strikes and windfury start to pop off. But I’m not sure yet.

  3. And this is really rp to me but with a group your totems can help just a little bit so you can be more of a team player? Everyone gets to auto attack a bit more and you can heal just a tad more for the group. Also you can purge stuff and interrupt so it’s helpful to have along for some fights.

Overall if your down with the class fantasy it’s fun but from some other classes the damage can feel a bit rough. I’ve never done resto and I doubt we’ll be great in arena for this expansion.

I really, really enjoyed leveling my Enhancement Shaman and am thinking of of playing it in SL. I’ve leveled about 5 classes to 50 in the pre-patch and enhance is the most fun I’ve had so far. I dont know how they will be later in Mythic+ so I am worried about maining it over one of the more “core” classes.
