I guess specifically Ele, I want to switch from M DPS to R and I’m not sure what to pick, I know I’m not a huge fan of lock anymore and I’ve never tried a shaman out yet. Would you recommend this class or should I just pick up a mage or hunter? I should also add that I like to PvP even though I’m not the best at it tbh lol but I’ll probably be focusing on the PvE aspects of the game.
Enhancement is very fun. I will I havent played elemental yet this expansion

Ele is good but then again its looked down upon in high keys due to how squishy we are. Though if you know the dungeon good placement and just knowing when to use the right CD’s helps a ton.
I would say ele rotation on paper seems simple but in practice it can get a little hectic depending on what talents you have. Class is very RNG dependent with lava surge and chain lightning/aftershock procs.
I would say give it a shot, its my fav ranged class that I have tried.

Both specs are decent, roughly top third of dps. You probably won’t be topping the charts, but reasonably viable. Tbh though if you have no intention of healing you’re probably better off going MM Hunter, that is a top 5 spec and is unlikely to change.

I love my shaman. I play enh for dps, and it is a lot of fun this xpac. The dps for both enh and ele is solidly middle of the pack. But there can be a prejudice against dps shaman in high keys because we’re probably the squishiest class. (I’ve been turned down for a few keys, but I’ve never spent more than about 10 minutes looking for an M+ run, but then, I don’t try for pugs past +9).
I don’t know what PvP is like for ele. I’ve heard good things about an ungodly lasso combination. PvP can be very frustrating for enh, since we’re very kitable, but we’re also very bursty so getting off that big burst can feel really good.

Yeah I’ve been maining my pally so far this xpac (my level is 60, no idea why its not showing) and getting kited while also being very bursty is something I’ve gotten used to haha.

Or play ele, and do the kiting and the bursting

My suggestion? Unless you’re in the top raiding guild, play whatever you like best, if you like shaman, play it and you might fall a few % behind at times or excel a few % at others, but being happy with the game is the most important part of playing the game. The people who nitpick over extremely small differences probably aren’t worth playing with anyway.

This guy gets it. 
This happened to me, and what I had to do to fix it was just switch to a different character on the forums and then switch back to my main.
Hunter is just straight up better and you will actually be invited to M+ groups. It’s also more fun in BGs.
