Is shadowmeld for rogue on PVP server that great?

I plan on leveling up a rogue on classic, kind of wanted to do a undead or orc. But then I was thinking on a PVP server there are times when shadowmeld would come in handy. But I’ve never played NE. Is it that great for a PVP server?

I guess it could be if you can’t wait for stealth to come off cooldown? I can’t think of any other uses a rogue would have for it.

You can already stealth as a rogue, SM is kinda worthless in that aspect. It makes you harder to detect but in reality not much of a difference playing against horde (percept is humans)

Rogue you want to go gnome for escape artist, or Human so you can use perception to beat other rogues in duels.

Night elf rogue’s have a higher stealth level, meaning you have to be closer to see them.

Gnome probably best. Remember, kiting is actually a thing in vanilla.

I kind of remember in classic either not having the powder for vanish, probably couldn’t afford, was always so broke in classic. Shadowmeld can be used in combat and takes you out of combat so you can stealth? I think that’s how it worked in vanilla? its been so long I cant remember the mechaincs.

Given two rogues of equal level and equal Master of Deception talents- the shadowmeld rogue will be harder to detect

You can’t shadowmeld in combat in vanilla.

No, it can’t.

Unless the other Rogue has Perception.

Ah ok, thanks I thought it could for some reason back then. Maybe gnome then lol
