Can an RTX 2060 handle max settings wow currently? I’d get one of the latest generation GPUs like a 3070, but they are still hard to find and way overpriced.
RTX 2060s are cheap, but are they good?

Yes overkill. Wow is just standing in Oribos. Uninstall.
No such thing as overkill smh
Get the best you can get so it lasts the longest!
Here is the most correct answer you’re probably going to get from someone who builds gaming rigs for a living
On 1080p? Yes. At 1440p? It will handle it but your GPU is going to get hot. 4k? No. Get a 3060ti or 3070 if you can find one at MSRP.
Oddly with World of Warcraft because it’s such a cpu-based game what CPU and RAM your on will determine your graphics settings more than anything else
if you do find one at a decent price check for leprechauns and unicorns because you hit the jackpot
It’s hard but not overly difficult I did manage to just get a very nice overclocked 3070 yesterday at MSRP in the newegg shuffle.
If you’re looking for a graphics card I would highly suggest participating in that every time they run it. It took two tries but I got it
Overkill? No.
A 3070 isn’t overkill at 4k with the graphics bugs this game has in some zones/instances.
I play at 4k on a 3070.
RTX 2060s are cheap
They are not.

Jumping ahead of the gun but he never once mentioned he was playing at 4K we have no clue what resolution he’s on and what CPU he’s on. He gave us very little info which is why I answered the question the way I did above.
If you pay attention to Consumer Reports you will realize most gamers are still gaming at 1080p with super high refresh rate monitors. There is a large pool at 1440p and the pool at 4K is incredibly small
What resolution and frame rate do you want to play at?
A 1650 will run WoW on 10 at 1080p 60fps CMAA (what I’m using) with pretty much no dips at all.
This is actually extremely accurate
A potato is overkill for WoW
You know the answer bruh.
I swear threads like this serve no purpose other than:
I have enough disposable income to afford a fancy GPU for a game that’s 16 almost 17 years old that was designed to run on a Commodore 64. Is it overkill? Jajajajajaj
This is actually extremely accurate
Agreed.
The OPs question has been answered. I think we’re done here. Let’s close this thread and go get some pizza
Yes I’ve gotten good information, thank you.
the majority of PC gamers(per steam stats) are stuck on 1080, so a 2060s at that resolution is indeed overkill.
however, WoW is probably not the only game you play, so go for the kill.
Yes I’ve gotten good information, thank you.
If you’re curious and what a truly Overkill for both wow and just about any other game out there would look like that will most likely be complete overkill for the next couple years here’s what you need.
Processor: i9 10900k OC to 5.2 or Ryzen 5800x
Motherboard: a high-end z490 or x570 Board like the Asus Hero series
Ram: 4000mhz+ on intel or 3800mhz CL16 on AMD
Cpu cooler: Artic Liquid Freezer ii 360
Graphics Card: an overclocked rtx 3080 or basic 3090
That should be overkill for just about any game you can throw at it for the next 3 years+
I never said it would come cheap but it’s going to be Overkill and it will completely last you. Please keep in mind I’m not telling you to go buy a rig like this no one actually needs a rig like this however if you wanted to know what an Overkill rig would look like what I stated above is pretty much it. This system is so Overkill that it would literally play just about any game at 4K all day long
If you want 60+ FPS on max settings than it will work. For me I am just happy with my 1660s running mid range graphics at 60 FPS, anything more and it would give my old eyes a tough time with all the whizzbang stuff going on screen.
Dude you may want to read other comments before posting. The OP himself has already stated that his question has already been answered.
And here you are literally just repeating things others have already said. We are all thankful for the input though
Who are you, a gate keeper? YOU said OP’s question has been answered, not OP.
Yes he did he replied with " yes I have gotten good information thank you" as in yes his question was answered. If you actually read the comments here you would have seen that
Don’t take it offensively I’m just trying to say please read some of the comments before posting because otherwise you’re not actually adding anything new to the conversation we’re just beating a dead horse at that point. I guess I just fail to see the point in making a thread a thousand post when it could have ended after 3
