Are most of the older people playing classic? Sometimes the trade chat makes me think it’s a lot of youngsters playing these days?? when and how did wow manage to attract this audience?? I thought fortnite was there thing?

Classic is too slow for my taste and retail is too time gated.

Almost all of the people I play with in retail are in the 30-40 range.
There are a few outliers of 18-24 and a couple 60+ players though.

I’m a boomer (30 years old) and I play retail because I played Classic back when it was current content and nostalgia said “why not try it again?” then when I played it I realized how awfully grindy it really is and decided to stick to retail.

People who actually care about what people say in trade chat and put in the time and effort to respond and participate in that cesspool are usually just immature by nature, whether it be due to genuine youth or just straight up intellectual deficiency

More young people are getting involved with it now thanks to how widespread it has become recently.
There are alot of older folks who never grew up and act very immature. And conversely there are a lot of maturer acting young folks.

imo the chat seems to be chiefly boomers pretending they are younger than they actually are… not only are they discussing the typical “zoomer” topics and using zoomer lingo in their speech… but the dead giveaway that they aren’t zoomers is how magically they have encyclopedic knowledge about everything 90s, including things that only someone who lived through the 90s as a kid or adult would know in-depth details about.
