I didn’t come up with those numbers and I’m sorry you don’t understand how they got to those numbers but that is not my problem. Your local University probably has a class on statistical inference through its business department.
Theres no point arguing man. He just wants to be right and claim his “totally substantiated info” is real, and legit. But he cant link us to anything put out by Blizzard. “Just google bro” is a cop out answer he uses so he can keep making wild claims. Ignore him and move on with the rest of the thread.

Lol these ridiculous ‘classic is going to kill retail’ posts were old a year ago.
Retail and classic are COMPLIMENTARY products, not competing products. The idea is that Blizzard wants to grow the WoW brand and isn’t setting one against the other. The idea with classic is to lure back the players who have left to play FFXIV or who otherwise aren’t playing retail because it has changed so much from classic.
Really what we are seeing is WoW1 and WoW2 and people actively playing both. Both occupy different spaces and both will continue along just fine.

Quite frankly, you’re an idiot, friend. Telling someone to google it isn’t a citation. And to cut off your token response to newcomers thus far, I have read the entire thread. You talk about the burden of proof but don’t seem to understand how it works. You’re the one making the claims. “It’s never happened before ever”, “Classic has more viewers than retail has subs”, and on ad nauseum. Since you’re making the claims, the burden of proof is on you. Not on the people refuting your baseless claims. A google search result from anyone other than Blizzard is not firm evidence. It is guesswork. No one is making billions doing statistical analysis on WoW’s current sub numbers, and making hyperbolic statements like that makes you look like a bigger moron than you really deserve credit for. There are no tools available that could provide an accurate figure of the current sub numbers. Anything and everything that is available could be and should be seen as inaccurate if it’s not confirmed by the company itself.
In your own words, “stop trolling” or provide evidence to back up your argument. You are the epitome of why the forums have a bad reputation for being an echo chamber full of delusional children.

No, it’s not dead… but I think they’ll be ripping up a lot of their plans for the next expansion, systems-wise, and going back to the drawing board… whether or not Classic WoW has legs or not.
This INSANE Classic launch and BFA’s previous hemorrhaging has proven there’s a hunger for something way different than Modern WoW… and if Blizzard doesn’t want to provide it, well, Activision will make them try.
Because money.

During the Activision Blizzard Second Quarter Calendar 2019 Results Conference Call, they mention that there have been around 100 million WoW accounts.
I suppose I expected (like you) that that number would be a bit higher, but this still seems reasonable.

i think they will tbh. people always forget that private servers are a thing. yea they get shut down but before classic came out people still played on um and im sure some still do for say wotlk/tbc content.
i personally enjoy classic first time playing through it since i started in cata mainly but compared to retail i enjoy it a LOT more. if they don’t update classic and i get to that state where im bored likely won’t come back not playing WoW for the past 6 months has freed up a lot of my time as well as money but $15 a month isn’t too much tbh if you have steady income.
