A lot of people that watch Twitch don’t even play. A lot of them just watch for Pokimanes assets, or I guess Asmongolds teeth.
I just started a new character on a retail server labeled “HIGH” on the population status. I did not see a single person in Ironforge.
this isn’t good logic. No one goes to ironforge because ironforge isn’t relevant in retail. there is literally zero reason to go there. If you want to see people you go to your capital city or to the hub in the current expansion. that’s where everyone is.
Time is the worst argument really.
No idea to be honest.
Now if you excuse me, we’re about to pull Heroiuc Za’qul
Nope, give it time, once enough people hit 60, get their end game gear, and their epic mount, it’ll start to wear off to where, because of the massive grind just to lvl a single character, will make it far less appealing for many to try again. This in turn will either have them stop or come over to retail because retail has a lot more to do, especially for those who haven’t played since Cata+. Yes, the lvling is easier, which may be a relief for those who got fed up with the grind, then there’s the content that can be done in groups or solo, which allows both solo and group players a chance to enjoy themselves.
No. Next question.
Serious answer though, even though I know you don’t want one, is that you’ll know exactly when it is “dead” - they’ll pull the plug on the servers the minute it is no longer profitable.
Retail died about a month after BFA. Legion was considered the 2nd best expansion by the community and I agree with that. BFA squandered all of that and killed the game.
Letting them do their thing and enjoy retail would mean not being an insufferable dickhead and constantly bemoaning retail
Some of what you’re saying is true. I don’t care if retail is doing great any more than I care if Grand Theft Auto is doing great. But part of it is hoping that if classic does well and retail loses some blizz might make some changes that make it more fun for people who like classic more.
Delusional as it’s finest!
I don’t know I don’t play retail.
I just started playing Retail a few days ago (after getting burnt out on Classic) and have been having fun with it. The server i’m on seems rather popular and i even see a bunch of people running around in the eastern plaguelands. Queues only take me about 10-20 mins as dps and stormwind is always packed. Seems fine to me.
Both Classic and Retail are good games that I enjoy.
It is absolutely not considered the second best expansion.
BC and WOTLK are far and away the best expansions. This isn’t open for debate. This is just the truth.
Legion is trash compared to BC or WOTLK.
me and you both bud
yup. In wotlk or bc they use to adverise having 16 million players. now they dont lmao
I will ALWAYS try each new expansion out when they release it. Unfortunately the past two expansions weren’t my favorite so I’ve stepped away to devote my time else where. That also seems to be the case for quite a few people which is why they are playing Classic or other games now. I don’t think the game is dead just because less people play it. The community for Retail has just changed so there isn’t that lively “hustle and bustle” that I feel Classic has to it.
Yea, people that haven’t played retail in years don’t realize that BFA is by far WoW’s worst expansion ever made. It started killing itself well before Classic was released.
Blizzard delivered a ton of features and grinds no one asked for or wanted, and the game has suffered for it.
I just really lost my drive to play in BFA. It felt like all the magic of the game that I had been holding on to for years just went away
I think humankind was placed here by UFOs a very long time ago. What does it matter what I think. It’s either true, or false and either case cannot be proven.
That being said, every "death of WoW’ theory has been proven wrong, so there’s not a good track record with regard to theorizing on this topic.
