Only part of retail that’s dead are the old worlds. How I wish they made use of them
It was pretty dead the first few days of Classic launch but people are starting to filter back into Retail now that the nostalgia is dying off for many / slower endgame is brought to light.
Nope, log in to a high pop server like Stormrage or Area52 and you see hundreds of people around town. Like usual.

I lasted a week in classic.
by this logic, Twitch has 50K viewers now so that must mean
CLASSIC IS DYING AND DEAD! Oh no!!!

Well you can’t judge a games success based solely on Twitch Streams. A couple hundred only stream, thousands VIEW.
Well I’ve picked up and played both so nana nana boo boo? Retail is just fine still. And Classic is too. They’re both fine
Thats terrific it’s awesome to got there! When the next content rolls out and you play again you’ll be in a good spot!

Current WoW is in a bit of a drought right now so I’m not surprised if Classic is doing better because it’s newer. That said if they fixed up current so the things people hate about it were removed I’d imagine it being more popular right now.

I’m sure I’ll at least play a bit in the next patch.
I resubbed for Classic. Have bought every expansion and the last few I kinda got max level and cancelled sub because it was meh…whatever. Storyline was good, and thats the main reason I resubbed for the exapansions. Real life now as opposed to 15 years ago makes you rethink spending all your free time in a game Some changes Blizz made i loved, others i hated, but I always had fond memories of vanilla. That being said, now I find myself torn between getting shineys in retail and leveling up in classic. I like them both, its like 2 separate games that I can do depending on how my mood strikes me…Have hours to grind, great! Want a new shiney that takes 10 minutes to get? Great! I’ll always love vanilla, and I will always love the challenge however facerolling mobs at times is fun as well.

This is exactly it. Even wow Classic has a finite end though its longer and harder. It will be much more rewarding. Retail is an urewarding treadmill and the gcd changes and pruning killed it further.

They got what they wanted, and they’re high on their own smug. Thinking this will be the status quo of WoW even though it’s still early on the hype train. It’s actually funny seeing the fanbois being hyperbolic.
