Is rerolling the only way to get more sparks?! Spark refund or spark vendor needed

So I used all 5 of my sparks on the wrong gear slots because I got stuck in skilling up my crafting profession and those were the only slots I could craft. I also wanted the xmogs for all slots eventually.

Yes, I knew that sparks were special, but did not realize that they could not be refarmed. I have been farming for weeks now but have not seen a single bottled essence. I don’t do any great vault activities, and so cannot earn a new spark every 2 weeks that way.

At this rate, I will never be able to recover all 5 sparks and will be left out of the entire crafting system for the rest of the expansion on this toon. It seems like it would be better to reroll the toon, level up again and farm renown again, so that at least I will have 5 sparks again and be able to craft now and later in the expac. And this time, I will ignore crafting professions for being the black hole for gold that they are.

Please introduce a gear scrapper to refund sparks, or some kind of system to guarantee spark acquisition through questing or world content. This is more vital than primal chaos or infusions because you simply cannot craft at all without sparks, and players should not be permanently punished for their mistakes.

im pretty sure they are going to introduce a new material/currency for crafting items in 10.1 to replace sparks of ingenuity…

there is no way they allow us to make 10.1 ilvl gear from sparks of ingenuity

Using 1 spark each on 3 alts making cloaks for +9 tailoring to get to 100 lmao. great system from Blizzard. Work order system is crapola and one of the many reasons I wont be leveling my skinning leatherworking and inscription. CBA. Raz is dead most of the guild playing harry potter its time to go do something else for 6 months

I agree that the Sparks system is bad. We need a biweekly fill-the-bar quest, end of story. Or bad luck protection that ramps up quickly and applied to open world content. Or even just a free Spark every week from the Aiding the Accord objective.

The Sparks RNG/grind fiasco is actually worse than Legion legendaries, because at least when your non-BiS legendary dropped, you were one step closer to your BiS dropping by process of elimination.

Sparks don’t even need to exist. We already have the Primal Chaos currency to limit how often you can craft.

The Sparks requirement is ingrained into every recipe. I doubt they would change that.

All devs would have to do for future seasons is introduce higher iLvl optional Primal Infusion items appropriate for each season, while keeping the base recipes the same.

I do hope that Sparks become more common later in the season or expac, which shouldn’t be a problem because without the Infusions the base iLvl is going to be so trivial that it won’t matter how many people can craft.

Unless they timegate the new primal infusion equivalent (currently not timegated) there would be nothing stopping everyone but their willingness to no life the game from crafting a mostly full set of mythic raid level gear immediately in the next tier.

Which is why would expect a new spark-like reagent.

Good point. Either the new Infusion would have to be timegated, or there would have to be a new Spark—or else people who saved their Sparks from Season 1 would be able to craft 5+ Mythic items just by no-lifing it that first week of Season 2.

I was thinking that the Infusions would be a bigger hurdle than the Sparks, but I underestimate the enthusiasm of competitive players when there is no hard cap stopping them. This is surely one reason why the Sparks were hard-timegated for the first couple months of this season.

humm… I just bought a bunch of mats and spammed trade asking people to take free Rank 5 cloaks. But I suppose that works too…
