Seems to heal for so minorly on my holy it almost doesn’t feel worth the hotkey spot. Maybe I’m missing something though.
I think that currently it’s only really useful as a cooldown reduction for Sanctify.
It’s something you can cast on people while moving if you’d like but the amount of healing it does is unlikely to prevent a death. It will, however, increase the healing received by about 10%, I think. You have to take the appropriate talent for that. It’s significantly more powerful when using Oracle instead of Archon.
For dungeon you’re using it for the healing buff talent and something to do while moving. For raid you’re using it for the Sanctify cooldown reduction (also with the talent).
The empowered renew is worth taking for the CD reduction to sanctify. The renew heal from it is not great still but not nothing and can be extended with regular renew procs on the target. Depending on build renew can do significant healing, tho most of it would be coming from not clicking the button
If I’m not mistaken and could be, mending leaves a renew. Does that count towards the cd reduction?
No, only casting. Pom renews or lasting words will not count towards reduction or be empowered, but if those renews combine, the duration of renew gets added together and the strength of the renew will be the empowered renew for the remainder of the time.
If you take Empowered Renew(and you should), the value when you mouseover the spell is the value before counting in the bonus. So you got to manually multiply it by 2.25 to find the actual value.
And yes, it’s definitely worth a keybind, even on Archon, and you are trolling if you don’t on Oracle.
Empowered renew is 100% great healing. Whoever says it’s not is playing in oneshot land.
The thing does more than a serenity over its duration, and you can extend it with lightwell/benediction/lasting words renews. It’s quite good passive healing - better than any other HoT in the game - and we’re not exactly a HoT class.
Even if you’re not running empowered renew, you should have it on your bar just to keep up the 10% healing bonus when you need it.
