Is ranked pvp no longer casual friendly?

Because healer dps continues being just better than double dps just by existing and once your “chill 2s” group losses twice you get booted and someone else joins the chill group

Really well said. It’s not elitist or gatekeeping to set a goal that requires some work to achieve. And handing that out for free has made so many people feel entitled to getting it again every time or they rage.

It’s okay and good to reward a child for learning to tie their shoes for the first time. They should not continue to get rewards for tying their shoes, and certainly not after whining about it.

Well i dont play lfg 2s so i assume thats an lfg experience since there are alot of “chill 2s” in flg, people are not so tolerable with mistakes un4ch

Depends on how difficult a casual player finds team mates.

My guilty pleasure is queuing yolo rbgs, and plenty of times you join up with the same backpedalling ballers who all know each other and are having a good time.

FWIW, I find overly competitive ‘casuals’ who hate to lose find it hard to get regular queues.

UH from my experience its normally one loss and its JOEVER. ONE AND DONE SON KEKW LULW PEPEW AND that other emote from EU

I ranted in a different thread, but it’s no longer casual friendly because there’s way too much going on from animations, to pets, to CC. Realistically, how is a new player supposed to learn properly between the billion pets that clutter everything and the needlessly flashy and obtrusive animations? ‘Oh, next time, kill that capacitor totem’ while there were forty BM pets ontop of it and a Frost Mage fills your screen with epilepsy worthy spells. And that’s not even getting into proper game play, tell a new player to start memorizing all 400 CCs that each class has available, their CDs, and infinite slows/roots.

PVP is a mess right now and needs major fixing, and that’s completely ignoring balancing issues.

Jokes aside the DH and Ele bots in DF were pretty frightening

I could break the DH bot on my lock with a port, think I ran into about 4 of them total. I think I ran into 1 or 2 ele bots and they kinda just wrecked the lobby they were in. The perfect grounding and wind shears were oppressive

IMO the pace and damage is pretty high at the moment, but it’s been a few years since I’ve played, and that makes mistakes ultra punishable. When the pace is high, and there are many abilities, and a lot less time to control the game, it probably makes it quite difficult to get into.

The community is also quite bad and unforgiving, but idk if that’s much different than any other pvp game. Deflation doesn’t help morale either, but the rating system is pretty outdated and the achieves being at set ratings is pretty dumb. Should just be percentile based like it used to be.

Anyway I think the biggest entry barrier is probably just the absurd amount stuff going on and the pace at which it’s happening.

And that solo shuffle has taken the place of 2’s and a lot of the old way of learning with mates and lfg.

Yeah but it was chill until the loss. If it wasn’t chill they would’ve left after the first win when they realized you’re missing an enchant on your ring.

Working as advertised

Honestly I think they realized its unfixable and thats why they just started working on Plunderstorm instead. The way WoW PVP is now you could basically combine all the spells for every spec into macro sequences, it would end up being 5 buttons

  • Damage/Heal button (depending on role)
  • Defensive button
  • CC button
  • Slow/root button
  • Mobility button

The game is so dumbed down now that everyone presses everything off cooldown without really thinking about it, everyone does the same rotations, everyone spams CCs mindlessly, majority of damage comes from passives, dots and pets rather than any “rotation” you’re doing.

I fully expect them to use Plunderstorm as a test for converting WoW PVP into the Plunderstorm model where its just waaaaay more simple to pick up and play for newbies.

Bg Blitz is just easier if you want climb despite it is entirely based on luck…

plunderstorm doesn’t appeal to anyone

casual pve do it for the rewards and quit

high rated pvpers dont like it

average pvpers can stomp noobs until the meta is solved and pve’rs are done collecting mogs and don’t like it anymore

battle royal players want to play fps games not a willy wonka moba extraction

PVP and Arena has such a deep learning curve that the only ones left are the full-time streamers, long-time veteran players, or competitive tournament gamers. Additionally, ratings have demoted so much and there are so few players that these hardcore types are all battling it out from 1700+. Each of those groups also has dozens of alts that they push up in rating, often several of their main class. The other odd group is that a lot of those players are mercenaries for ratings sellers and carries. When you have a really tough game against a bad player paired with a pro level carry that’s all in greens, you can often look them up on the warcraft site, drustvar, or pvp check and see that the pro player in greens is on a toon that was just leveled and has no record at all. PVP and arena is not in a good place right now.

Oh gosh, I can’t stand that game mode. I’d just play something like Smite if that was the case.

“According to some data” lol

Ultra sweat lords are at 1600 when they should be 2k because it’s so deflated. Seeing arena masters and guys with 2400 achieves running Hpal BM, or Disc Feral and ultra tryharding that low is crazy.

this is why the MMR system needs a rework. for example last season i was 2500+ CR in shuffles which was considered below average cause the season was so inflated. this season im hardstuck 2100 because the season is so deflated. so that begs the question. am i a 2500 xp player? or am i a barely 2k xp player?

Arena Master more like Washed Master lmao :dracthyr_love_animated:

Dozer being a cry baby so had to edit
