Is Raid finder dead?

I came back to Dragonflight late (needed a break after the previous expac) and, once I got to max level (I am a slow player) I did some dungeons and then prepared to do LFR. Except the wait time is two hours. And so I am unable to see the raids or progress through the story.

This isn’t so much a complaint as an observation. For unskilled players like me who still love the game, and there are many of us, it’s a real problem that there are barriers to seeing the whole enchilada. It reminds me of WotLK, when I played constantly from launch but never got to see the Lich King defeated until MoP.

I know you can tell me to get good, but that won’t happen. I have three strikes against being any good at video games and always have. I still love them, but I am never going to be better than below average. So please don’t tell me to “get gud” because I’ve been playing since before BC released and have taken all the advice and so on and . . .it’s like telling a dyslexic person to “just read” or a person in a wheel chair to “just walk.”

I think Blizzard needs to find away around this new reality of not enough players around to even see raids for some players. It isn’t like I am the only one. It’s just that most players like me don’t speak up. They just give up.

Thanks for reading this. It’s a fun expac, the best in years, but I can feel my enthusiasm waning simply because, at max level, I feel hemmed in storywise and unable to move forward the way the game is designed to have us move forward.

It’s still early in the day when most people are still at school or work. Queuing as dps means you’ll have longer queue times. It’s also later in the raiding tier so not as many people doing lfr other than evokers trying their luck at the leggo.

I think a lot of the casuals for whom Raid Finder is their typical endgame are currently farting around with draenei and tauren warlocks and rogues.

I know I am!

Early on a week day, and for a DPS the que is long. It’s going to be way longer if you are queing Vault of the Incarnates, too. It doesn’t contribute to vault, so people who use LFR to just barely keep their shelved alts scraping by don’t do it.

Yes to all three. But I am finding even evenings to have super long wait times. I realize I have hit the trifecta of no raiding, lol, but perhaps it’s time for Blizzard to find a way to not lock STORY behind group content.

I recently returned, too. Good to see ya back on the forums. But no more purple judgment set!

As someone said, if you’re trying to do Vault of the Incarnates, then since it’s not current raid tier, most people won’t be doing it. If you’re doing Abberus, then yeah, it’s late in the season and mostly evokers are just going for the leggo. Does help to queue as healer or tank. I heal on my evoker in lfr and, even though I am trash, we still get the kill and I get the quicker queue, so I recommend doing that if you can heal.

I managed to do all the LFR a couple weeks ago no problem.

Been averaging 6 hours in queue as tank.

As a pretty bad player, you do NOT want me tanking or healing. I wouldn’t do that to the rest of you, lol. I am barely adequate in low level DPS. Barely.

You have to change your clothes once a week or you smell worse than a Tauren living in a Kodo corral. Forum pallies united!

There is no shortage of players. There is a shortage of healers. That’s what happens when you NERF THE ENTIRE HEALER ROLE at the beginning of the expansion, and then DO IT AGAIN the very next season. Healing now is like trying to fill a swimming-pool with a garden-hose. It’s not fun when you pop a cooldown on someone that used to be able to heal them to full and it heals them for 10% of their life instead.

Fair enough, trying to offer solutions. Hopefully, Blizz does another fated raids season like they did at the end of SL, so people can do all the raids if they missed out.

Which LFR are you doing?

That would be awesome. As a person who bailed early in Shadowlands, did that help a lot? I can wait to see the raids but I’d like to see them before the next expac, is all.

The first one. The one that everyone has done but me, lol. (sorry I am old and can’t remember the names of instances if they weren’t in vanilla, basically.)

I can’t roll on mogs so no reason for me to be in there on my devoker / auggie

Yeah, nobody is doing anything in vault of the incarnates now, except for maybe razageth for the mount skin.

You’ll get much shorter queues for aberrus, the current raid.
