Is PTR loading screen changed?

To me it seems like they ruined the loading screen music it feels completely different in the PTR. It feels like a different game.

I can’t believe they did this.

Is it different or do I just hate TBC this much?

Well what is it?

They ruined the loading artwork and music.

It’s no longer classic. It’s retail.

I’m done.

This sounds dramatic. Sure you didn’t open the wrong client?

I’m not being dramatic, launch the PTR. It sounds weird to me.

Funkytown - Lipps Inc

this but unironically :expressionless:

Ewwwwww..

If true that is gross. Why does Blizzard hate classic so much? Does it remind them that they arent measuring up to 20 years ago?

They have to change to to retail in order to implement the cash shop.

I feel sick just reading that..

Now I ask an honest opinion on MMORPG…

What is the best game model that you personally and the bulk of your freiends perfrence in order to keep the game hosted?

Subscription model?
Free to play with various MTX?
Etc?

Doesn’t matter what we want, wow has been subscription with MTX for over a decade.

Well, I was asking about preferences for not wow, a new day will eventually dawn.

I think the whole gaming industry is riddled with MTX, basically can’t get away from it anymore.

I wonder if the response is dictated by gamer age.
If you were an “early adopter” like UO or EQ vintage many might say a sub.
More recent? Those seem to be used to or expect f2p + mtx.
ymmv but I’m gtg with sub no shop then again I’m an old fart

That is likely true. Been thinking about this question for a few years because eventually..,

Does it show a bowl of fruit now?

I don’t have an issue with the subscription model - though, how much a license to play Classic WoW costs for a 20 year old game is pretty obscene, IMO.

I’m not convinced that F2P with MTX as a model was deigned for the benefit of the consumer rather than the publisher.

I’d also be happy with an upfront purchase fee and understanding that the content is seasonal and will be forcibly retrograded at a certain date.

All designs are intended to benefit the maker, but some are better or worse for the player.

Nothing is designed for the benefit of the consumer.

The absolute best payment model was WoW’s first few years: a box cost and a sub. Access to everything. Zero cash shop.

The worst payment models are all labeled as ‘free to play’.

Maybe this is naive and nostalgic but I don’t feel like that was always strictly true. I feel like the video game industry of 20 years ago was more artistic and risk-seeking, with small-medium publishers that were inclined to make money by creating competitive products.

Whereas now, mega-publishers try to make money by squeezing every ounce of monetisation out of their products.
