I’ve had every intention of maining my Mage for SL… Now after leveling this priest I’m having second thoughts. I’m having alot of fun healing dungeons with Holy and doing quests as Disc. I fully realize this is not endgame which leads me to my question. Are you going to main a Priest for SL? If so, why?

Depends a lot on if stuff changes or not. If things stay mostly how they are now, I’m probably swapping over to Paladin or something.

Depends what’s good in 5 mans. I loved playing disc in raids, but this tier, I’ve stopped caring about raiding and am focusing on M+. If they make just little changes to make 5 mans better for disc, then sure.
But it’s WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early for me to even think that far ahead.

If void form and applying atonement is a thing in SL, then my priest will continue to be an alt.
Shadow and Discipline were my absolute favourite specs, but I lost all interest in the class ever since VF and this new atonement playstyle were introduced.

I mained a disc priest in WOTLK and loved it… This is actually my first return to the class since then. I am enjoying holy more than I had before, but admit I haven’t healed a M+ or raid yet so my opinion could easily change. Does anyone enjoy Holy? I’m starting to think I’m just being taken in by easy content…

Yes. This will be my main. Ive mained all 3 specs sice i created him n wrath but its the only main ive had since then and the only one i will ever have

As is tradition, I will emphatically believe I’m really going to switch this time.
I will hate the Alpha Spriest changes.
I will level my new main 1 level into the new expansion.
Then I will log onto my Spriest and be a Spriest the rest of the expansion

Depends what shadow looks like in alpha. I’ve played long enough to know that whatever it’s like in alpha is how it’s going to be at launch. BfA was the first expac I didn’t main shadow (switched to ww/brm which was always my “main alt”) and I’m fine sticking with it again… especially since I’m probably going to just be doing M+ in the future.

I will, because the thought of leveling up an alt to the level this guy is at fills me with dread.
Besides, having two healing specs has generally worked well for me. When one is bad, theres at least another choice. And i suppose shadow is there as an ultimate last resort if both the heal specs were broken.

As a healer, I like most will probably be going pally if things don’t change. Same holy theme, better healing HPS and Utility, better dps while healing, and their DPS spec is better and a true “support-dps” as well - all the while you have a tank spec if you ever want to. And if torghast and similar things in SL are like they are in BfA, I’d rather not be caster…

Shadow DPS is just painful… I wish Void Eruption was instant cast as a baseline, I think it would make the spec so much better.

I have numerous priests at max level and somehow they all end up holy /shrug. I like the spec, I think it’s fun to play and I find it easy to quest with. There are a few tweaks I wish they would do with the spec, but overall I’m happy with it. I will main my main priest in the next expansion because she’s been my main for a few expansions now.

Too early to tell, at this point I’m about 50/50. But it’s not uncommon for me to swap mains for new expansions. I see it as an opportunity to explore all the options and decide what I want to play.
I don’t choose my main because of class fantasy (I wouldn’t be playing priest if I did), it’s all about gameplay for me. Having two healing specs on one class is definitely a big plus for Priest too.
I used to only care about Raiding (so Priest was a really good and fun choice) but I got a bit more into M+ as well so if I’m going to stick with Priest I’d probably need to see some better M+ utility tools.

Priest has been my main in almost all xpacs, but ended up mostly playing rogue and mage in BfA. I’ve put in wayyyyy too many days /played on the priest to give up on him entirely, though. Probably will main in SL

If i was a bettering man i would say glimmer will become a talent but wont scale like it did this xpac which should bring pallies back to the pack. Lack of essences for their wings etc will help too.
I would like to think 2 xpacs with rdruids and hpallies at top of mythic plus, its time for someone else to have a go. Maybe poor shammies.
I think disc will be mostly unchanged except for a talent fix to help us in keys
story of my life. except most of this expansion ive managed to afk. came back this tier playing my DH…thats lasted about a month. back to the priest.
